(This story is heavily inspired by the Netflix Tv show "Bridgerton" though the characters will not be  in the story it will be set in the same type of race equal universe as well in London <a few events may be similar >.)

Violet stared at herself in the mirror while being dressed in her evening gown, her handmaiden, Amelia tightening the corset causing her to gasp from how tight it was. Once done, she slipped her newest pastel blue evening gown that her mother insisted on her wearing at tonight's ball. Violet was 19 years old and a very beautiful young lady. She had dark brown curly hair that reached to the center of her back and piercing brown eyes. Her skin was tan and body was slim, though just brown her eyes could most definitely capture the heart of any man if it weren't for her fierce attitude.

"All done miss Evoris, you look absolutely stunning." Complimented Amelia,  earning a small smile from Violet

"Amelia, haven't I told you we're far past formalities, you've been my lady far longer than I can remember, please...call me Violet"  Amelia nodded apologetically and Violet turned to face her "now, do you think this blue compliments me?" She asked whilst grabbing her evening gloves from off the chair they hung off of.

"I do think it does Miss Violet, it surely compliments your tan skin just right" replied Amelia.

Violet finished slipping on her gloves and looked in the mirror once more  before a knock was heard on the door, her mother soon peaking in"Violet dear, we must make haste, Our carriage has arrived"

Amelia left the room as Lady Evoris entered, her mother admiring Violet and the dress she picked "Oh Violet, you look absolutely beautiful"

"Do you really think so mama?"  Violet now turned to face her mother

"I don't think, I know...and I also know you'll attract many suitors tonight" this earned a groan from Violet

"Mama please.." Violet rubbed her temples trying to rid of the thought of being surrounded by men all night , them asking her over and over to dance and making such boring small talk.

"Violet, you're a debutante this season, we must find you a reasonable suitor"

"Mama, what if I don't wish to marry?-"

"Violet please.."

"But mama-"

"Violet...Enough! Do you know how hard it is for women who do not marry in society? Do you really want to live that way? To be a spinster?" Though harsh, her mother made a good point. If she were not to marry before the age of 25 she would be known as a spinster, a woman who won't be easily accepted and will only be judged nearly everywhere she goes. "Now...make haste, your father is waiting downstairs" her mother left with those words leaving Violet alone

"Ohh Violet you must marry, Violet you can't be a spinster , Violet Violet Violet !!" She mocked kicking the chair the sat infront of her "it's not fair! Thomas gets to travel the world and be free while I'm stuck to marry and be a baby maker to a man"

Thomas, the eldest son of the Evoris family was a well known and well liked man in Willowton, he was a very handsome young man at the age of 23 and the one to be Viscount once his father moves on. Though the eldest, he could still travel and be free unlike Violet before his time comes to marry and carry on the family name.  Violet also had one younger sister and one younger brother, her brother, Elijah was aged 12 and her sister Harper was aged 14.
Violet composed herself once more and grabbed a pair of diamond earrings and a sapphire decorated silver necklace and put them on ,then making her way downstairs to her mother and father.
"Ah my beautiful flower, you look stunning" her father complimented as she walked down the stairs, Violet giving him a warm smile

"Why thank you father" Thanked Violet, her mother interlocking their arms as they begin another conversation on their way to the carriage. It's like the events before never happened. Violet enters the carriage and tries to block the rambling of her father as it begins to take its leave.

Not far from the Evoris Family lived the Aletheia Family. This family was very well known and very well respected.  The countess Theodora or Lady
Aletheia had two children before the passing of her late husband the Count. Her eldest being Silas who was 24 and very good friends with Thomas and her youngest being Josephine whom was 19
And very close with Violet.

Josephine was getting ready alike Violet in her room. Her handmaiden Elizabeth dressing her in her ball gown. Josephine's dress was a beautiful shade of daffodil with embroidered flowers at the feet of the dress. Her strawberry blonde hair was done up with two pieces of her bangs down in the front her semi wavy hair making the hair style match perfectly with her face. She has radiant blue eyes that could make any man ...or woman fall to their feet. Unlike Violet , Josephine is well put together and well behaved, she says the right things at the right times and never speaks her mind...even if she wants to desperately.

"Lady Aletheia, would you rather this necklace or this one?" Asks Elizabeth holding up two different pieces of jewelry. Josephine inspects them both and eventually picks the golden one. This piece was a rhinestone decorated golden necklace. Quite the beauty.

"I like this one...how do I look Miss Elizabeth?" The girl flaunts her jewelry to herself in the mirror waiting for a response from her handmaiden.

"I think it looks lovely my lady, you will be the most beautiful at the ball tonight" she praised handing Josephine her evening gloves

"You're truly too nice Miss Elizabeth, but I assure you I will not be the prettiest." Josephine smiled and made her way out of her room and downstairs where her mother and brother were waiting.

"Rather the perfectionist?" Scoffed Silas whom had been waiting impatiently for Josephine to dress

"Oh Silas must you pester your sister? Beauty takes time" Theodora approached Josephine and cupped the girls cheeks "oh, my precious diamond, your father would be so proud at the lady you've become Josephine"

"Mama please, we must make haste if we are to make it on time this evening"

"We wouldn't need to make haste if you'd taken just a little less time dressing"  Silas remarked but Josephine ignored interlocking her arm with her mothers , the two leaving to their carriage

"Heaven only knows how he's going to be this evening...quite the pest"  whispers Josephine, both giggling

"Oh surely, especially when it comes the time to find eligible suitors"  Josephine's laugh soon comes to
Stop at her mother remark... "are you okay dear?" Josephine snaps back and resumes laughing nervously

"I wouldn't be merely surprised if she fears how many ineligible men she's going to see tonight"

"Silas! Must you always?" Cried Theodora. Josephine lay her hands in her lap and begins to look out the window at the view , the voices of the others starting to fade as the girl gets lost in her own thoughts.
