" FLAME!" he said with equal enthusiasm as he held me tight in his arms. In his embrace I felt something I haven't felt in a long time. 'Home'
I haven't felt like this since what happened with THEM, but they're no longer of importance. Right now it's just me and Charlie, my dad, my Anchor, my rock,.. my home.
" I missed you dad" i whispered in his ear as I held him close. "I missed you to flame, I'm so sorry for not being able to get you out of here sooner" he whispered back, his voice cracking as he did so.
We broke apart and just stood there, not talking , just enjoying each other's presence and studying one another. Well until dad broke the finally broke the silence."Come on kiddo, let's get you outta here." I grabbed the little belongings I had and made my way to the steel door. I seen dad look at me confused, most likely from my lack of stuff as we made it down the hallway and to the elevator but I didn't say anything.
We eventually made it to the ground floor and to the desk to get me checked out and to get the rest of my things. Which still wasn't a lot but the it was still mine, and I'd be damned if I left without any of it.
