The week passed quickly. I found myself constantly scanning the faces of people walking by in the hallways, trying to find those green eyes again. But I never did. It was either I'd somehow hallucinated him, I had been kinda hungry since I skipped lunch, or our schedules just happened to be really unaligned.

Before I knew it it was Friday and school had just ended for the week. I was walking through the hallways toward the exit when I saw him.

Standing by the drinking fountain. He looked like he was contemplating something.

Wait, he wasn't actually planning on using it. Was he?

You could use a lot of words to describe the stuff in this school, but sanitary did not happen to be one of them. I decided I should probably go tell him that. Not like I want to talk to him again or anything. Just trying to be nice. Yeah.

I shake my head, clearing away all thoughts. Just who exactly was I making excuses to anyway.

Before I reach him he turns to face me. He looked surprised to see me. Hopefully, it was a pleasant kind of surprise. I hadn't really looked at anything other than his eyes earlier but now I took a second to study his whole face. He had wavy dark blonde hair that was cut short. His skin was warm and golden, and his green eyes shone as brightly as they had before. There was a light spray of freckles dotting his cheeks.

Allen was right. He is really cute...

"We finally meet again," he says with a small smile. "I haven't even caught a glimpse of you since we met a few days back. I was beginning to think you were avoiding me."

 He had thinking about me?

"I guess we just don't have any classes together," I reply, trying to keep my tone as casual as I could. Was that too formal an answer? Should I have been more jovial? Why am I overthinking this? Thoughts swirled through my mind.

"Were you... going to use the fountain?" He asks gesturing to it.

"Oh, no. No no no." I laugh, using my hands for emphasis. "Those things are a hotbed for diseases. I actually came over to stop you from making that mistake."

He smiles again. I don't know why but my heart feels a little lighter every time he does. Or maybe I just had anemia.

"You've saved me again then. Who knew I'd moved to a town with its own resident superhero?" He teases.

"Hold the praise, I'm just doing my job citizen," I return his smile and brush a lock of hair that had fallen over my glasses away. "But anyway, I should probably get going now."

I start to walk away, wondering why I had started to walk away. I wonder if he'll say anything else. I hope he says something else.

"Wait," I hear from behind me. I almost let out an audible sigh upon hearing that. "Maybe we can walk together. Where are you headed?"
