no one compares to you
Satoru wasn't able to remember when his argument with Suguru started, it was all blurred. All he knew for sure—was that Suguru and him, had mentioned many things which were now indelibly written in his mind. Bitter tears were rolling down his cheek uncontrollably, while he was curled up in an uncomfortable position covered with his blanket—a gift from his beloved boyfriend.
Both of them were acknowledging the fact that they could never achieve the "exceptional" relationship at all costs. Arguing wasn't something that occurred often however when it did, it was always serious.
Today, things had escalated extremely fast. Suguru was mad at the oblivious Satoru, for giving the littlest possible attention to their relationship. Satoru, was caught off guard and had a difficulty understanding the importance of the situation, because he thought he was an absolutely great partner. Never had he ever believed that he wasn't giving his best. Thus, Suguru's complaints shocked him— a lot. Actually, he felt offended and deemed it crucial that he didn't hold back.
Satoru's counterclaims, were enough to contribute to this argument's a enlargement.
And that was how, this situation began getting worse— or maybe that's an understatement because the damage afterwards was too much to be handled by both. After a few hours of spitting out venomous—the least— words, both of them ended up being mentally tired so they gave up. Not even if they tried to recall what they had exclaimed, they wouldn't have remembered details. But a couple of things such as "you are absolutely horrible" & "you are always too dramatic" were replaying in Satoru's head. They left him dumbfounded and exhausted because he was aware that they were true. But why was it paining him so much when he was referred as "dramatic" & "lazy".
Because despite flawlessness being impossible to be reached, he was willing to try and become the perfect man for Suguru Geto. Because, he loved him more than life itself, so it felt like he had disappointed him & this, hurt like hell. Nobody had ever held such an important place in his heart, to feel the need to be that — good for them. Except him.
———
Suguru though, wasn't in the best mood either. He had lighted countless cigarettes to ease the uncomfortable weight on his chest. He had certainty that his words impacted Satoru to the biggest possible extent. But he also knew that his "darling" as he always called him, would never show it. Not even to him. The guilt inside him was eating him alive, and the fact he made one of the strongest people he had the chance to ever meet, weaken that much—fucked him to the core. Suguru's words were obviously not true, he just spit them out during the heated conversation— if it can be called one. But if only did Satoru understood how truly sorry his boyfriend was. Cause, everything was false. He was excellent in Suguru's eyes no matter what he did. He fell in love with him, including the little things considered "bad".
How their pure souls ached for each other, would never be comprehended by anyone else besides these two. They were completing each other and no matter how many times they will argue, nobody & nothing can ever change the way Satoru feels for Suguru, or Suguru for Satoru.
None of them would do one step forward and apologise first. Yes, they were willing to back off, but no, under no circumstances would they actually commit it. Satoru was sobbing his eyes out while Suguru was hardly breathing properly. Maybe, just maybe they needed sometime alone, to suffer— and heal afterwards.
And as many times as Suguru had combed his hair with his hands, it wasn't decreasing his wish to have it done by Satoru.
It was already midnight, Satoru was calmly wiping his last tears and drifted to sleep, as for Suguru the situation was triggering him to the point where he wasn't even capable of getting his eyes off the clock in their bedroom. Counting every second passing, praying that this tragedy is nothing but a destructive nightmare.
