Sleet sliced through the air as she ran through the woods her heavy breaths barely heard over the crunching ice beneath her feet. She ran as fast as she could but she was never going to escape me alive. I saw her slip and tumble down the sloped terrain. I walked over to her still body and leaned down to her eye level.

"I told you," I stated bluntly, "I said you couldn't escape me, but you didn't listen."

"P-please" she rasped.

"Sorry I didn't catch that could you speak up,"

"I-I don't want to die,"

"Well that's too bad because I don't care," I scoffed, "you tried to leave me I thought you were different but no you were just like the rest,"

As I walked away I could hear her as she took her last breath. It's her own fault that she's dead. I tried to warn her, but she tried to escape anyway. She was just like the others, she didn't listen, now look at her. Dead and alone in a forest where no one will find her, at least not before the animals get to her. This isn't great for me either. Now I have to move again and find a new girl in a new town, at a new school. I guess Mallory really did mean unlucky.
