** October 7th, 2003 **

"Well, all be damned!", exclaims Deputy Lopez, her hands on her hips as she glances down towards the bodies on the ground.

Sheriff Cromwell peers down at the dead bodies that lay lifelessly on the dirt path, shaking his head, "Wasn't expecting to see this today, but here we are", he says, his hands on his hips as he glances at the rotting bodies on the dirty floor.

"If I'm being completely honest, Sheriff, I wasn't expecting this, either", replies Deputy Lopez, looking back up at Sheriff Cromwell.

"We need to identify these bodies. Call Gary. Let him know we have a case".

"Yes, Sheriff".

Sheriff Cromwell peers down at the bodies, multiple knife stab wounds on their chests and multiple bruises on their faces, "Looks pretty brutal! Lopez, did you get a hold of Gary?", he asks.

Deputy Lopez glances over at Sheriff Cromwell, the walkie-talkie up close to her mouth.

"Gary will be here soon, he is heading over right now with the police!", she replies, attaching her walkie-talkie to her belt.

Sheriff Cromwell nods, bending down to look at the wounds closer, "Looks like a murder...Lopez, are there any other clues as to what went down here?"

Deputy Lopez glances around, spotting something and bending down, picking up a knife, dry blood scattered on it, "Sheriff! We have the weapon that the person used to stab the victims!", she calls out.

Sheriff Cromwell walks over to Lopez, looking to see the knife on the ground, dried blood covering it, "Let Gary and the police know when they get here! That could be the key as to what happened here", he says.

"Yes Sheriff".

Sheriff Cromwell looks around, looking for anything else that could be clues, "Judging by the blood on their bodies and their bodies in general, it looks like that their bodies have been here for a while or this happened not recently, but at least a week or so ago", he says as he keeps looking around on the ground.

The sound of police sirens makes Sheriff Cromwell look up, seeing the police cars park in the parking lot.

Gary steps out of the car, shutting the door behind him as he walks over to Sheriff Cromwell, "Cromwell! You said there were bodies that need identification over here?", he questions.

Sheriff Cromwell nods, pointing behind him, "In the bushes, a knife with dry blood was spotted a foot ahead of the trail. By the looks of the bodies, looks like this happened a week or so ago", he says, putting his hands on his hips.

Gary nods, walking past Sheriff Cromwell as he examines the crime scene.

Deputy Lopez steps next to Sheriff Cromwell, her hands on her hips as she watches police swarm the area, "We'll find out soon what happened...", she says, taking a deep breath.

Sheriff Cromwell nods, "Hopefully, until then though, we need to find out who these people are and the whole story of this mess", he says, watching the police swarm the park.
