Chapter 16

Fatima's POV

I woke up to the repeated ringing of my cellphone. But even though I am annoyed to the bone, I got up, rubbing my eyes a little.

Before answering the call I first looked at what time it was. Only to find out that it's only seven pm in the evening. After that I turned my attention to the person who keeps on calling me.

But my eyes almost popped out when I saw that I had seven missed calls and 26 messages from Mr. Star.

W-what the...!

Even before my brain could process what was happening properly, my cellphone suddenly rang again.

And because of that, I answered the call full of annoyance.

“Why are you calling??” I asked irritably to the person on the other side. But what I get in return is the same attitude. “Then why are you mad?” Cole bark back that just made me sigh.

“I was sleeping! Do you get it now?” I said, letting him know that I was a little disappointed.

“Oh...so that's why you can't answer my calls right away.” I heard him sniffs from the other side, and I just rolled my eyes.

“So?  What's the reason for all of this?” I asked in a boring tone. But instead of getting an answer right away, all I could hear was his breathing for awhile.

I huffed a breath but still waited for him until he spoke again.

“Come out,” He demanded after awhile, which made my forehead crease. “Why? Why should I go outside?” I asked, glancing at the curtain of my window inside my room.

“Just come out, stupid.” I gritted my teeth after hearing his words. “Just come out, will you? I'm fucking cold.” He eventually added, that made me even more confused.

What is he saying? For the love of God!

“W-why? Don't tell me you are here right now?” I couldn't help but stutter while I asked that question. The idea of him outside our house is making me feel like I'm his something or what. But at the same time, I started making my way towards my window, to see if he was truly telling the truth.

“Why would I tell you to come out if I'm not here?” He said in a low voice and sigh. “Just hurry up because the mosquitoes are already taking advantage of me.” He whine in a demanding way.

I could not quite see the outside of our house because it was a little bit dark. So I decided to end the call and chose to see it with my own eyes as I dragged myself out of our house.

As I was leaving the house, it was only then that I realized that Mila was still not home. But let's forget that first. Right now, I need  to hurt myself and see if I’m just dreaming right now.

I secretly started biting the inside of my lower lip, and when it hurts, damn it's true.

He's really here...Cole's really here!
