When I woke up Josh and my mom were waiting outside in the cool weather. My head still stung from the glass that cut through and it still had a bandage on it.
"Hey sweetie. Are you feeling better?" My mom said as I walked towards them. I just gave her a straight face not forgetting what she said last night and how she acted.
"Fine."
"Alright the car is this way." Josh said trying to break the tension in the air.
We started to follow him with out saying anything else.
"Tim called," Josh said once we got in the car. "He was worried and wanted to see how you were." My stomach turned making me feel jittery when he said this. I was happy and pissed and hurt all at the same time.
"Why did he call you?"
"He said he texted and called you but you never replied and he started to get worried." I quickly pulled out my phone and saw that not only Tim but Monica also have left messages and voice mails.
"Guess I forgot." I said. He started to drive away from the hospital garage and i leaned my head against the window making sure at each bump my head wouldn't bounce off. Josh had turned on the radio on some lame and depressing song that totally killed the summer mood.
"Hmph, I just remembered I have catering today!" My mom had started to say as she checked her phone.
"For who?" Josh asked with one hand on the wheel.
"The Mayors. I think it'll be held at the beach." Yes! That means the beach is going to stay open after sunset.
"Cool. Well are we invited?"
"Yes I am always invited to the parties I cater."
They stopped talking and the sad song sort of got louder with out anybody touching the radio.
" 'Cause you were mine for the summer and now the summers nearly over. Feels like snow in september but I always will remember you were mine summer love.."
"Can you please switch the station." I finally asked Josh. It was bringing my summer mood lower than ever.
We got home and right when I get into the door my mom tells me to meet her in the living room. Of course I already knew what was coming.
"Yeah?" I said as I crossed my arms hoping it wouldn't last long.
"That attitude of yours first of all has got to go."
"Its not attitude, mom, its called standing up for yourself when your mother blames you." I was defiantly not going to take this.
"I will stand up for a daughter that is respectful of herself and others. Not someone that rudely interrupts someone else that is giving an important announcement. Or someone that breaks other peoples crystal glass and fights with there son." She was getting so close to my body. Heat and anger was all I felt and i knew if I didn't walk away I would hurt her.
"You really think I did that on purpose? You really think I would sit here breaking glass on purpose and stabbing my self with it in the head? Open your freaking eyes and mind and realize I didn't start ANY of this! You don't understand how hard it is to stand up for your self when you don't have backup." And I stormed off to my room.
"NICOLE GET BACK DOWN HERE!" I herd her yell. I didnt care though I bumped into Josh and he tried to hold on to me and comfort me but I was not sitting here for his bull crap either. Of course he is going to have his girlfriends side first and then my mom and MAYBE me. My eyes were about to drip tears but I tried my hardest to hold it in. My head started to buzz i immediately changed into sweatpants and a loose see through tee. I kept my hair down trying to not make the bandage obvious and headed towards the beach.
