Escape

Dren's POV

Bud and I were waiting for the gate to open. I was sweating a lot, even Bud. Then the ground began to rumble. I wonder what completely happened. And then the mountains begin to open up. The gate has finally opened and now we can get out of this scorching desert. We went to the other side of the gate and I looked at the bottom. From here it seemed like a long way to go. I began to remove the shoes, opened the jacket and tied it around the waist. I begin to release my tail from my skirt. Bud grabbed hold of me. The Merridees held onto my bag.

"Come on. let's go." I called. I opened my wings and began to float all the way to the bottom. It seems that we have been here for a long time. Right there, there was the spaceship we were on and the red rocket far from the base. "This is the same red rocket over there when we first got here. And that means they must be nearby." I realized.

"Yeah." Bud agreed;

I cupped my hands and called out. "Candy! Etno! Gorgious! Stereo, Mono, Meggy! Hello, are you there?" I called. No one answered.

"Maybe they're too far to hear you," Bud responded.

"Well, they can't be too far away."

We begin to follow other entrances and look around for others. I need to walk around the corner and hide around the corner to start staring for some scientists. We both follow and there is a portrait of Dr. Saccharin. He must be the one who caught the aliens long ago. He tormented many by surgery, being frozen or blood sampled and turned into slime.

I turned the corner to the left. There was no one there. We check the left path. There was a control button in the middle. I guess we found the right one. There were four pods, my friends! "Guys!"

"I'll get you out." Bud replied. He heads to the control pad in front of another photo of the Mad Scientist. When he pressed it, all the doors began to open. "Guys! You're okay!" I screamed happily, my ears and tail warbling.

"Dren!" Stereo and Mono cried with joy. The twins rushed, hugged me and wrapped my neck around my neck. Candy jumped into my arms and purred. She was so happy to see me again. "I thought I would never see you again,* she squeaked happily. I noticed that she was wearing a pink jacket. She must have worn it while she was escaping. Etno approached me. His face was bright pink. Then two more aliens appeared. They look slimy and weird. "Oh my goodness! My other half!" the pink one responded.

The slime girls begin to race each and begin to hug. To my surprise they begin to morph and shape into their true form. An alien with tentacles and a poofy hair look. "Whoo...That's better." she sighed. I was shocked, my tail became straight. "Wow! Did you?"

"Yep. My other half was separated when I got created here. Now we're back together. By the way, I am Yusi." the magenta alien said. Yusi huh? That's a weird alien name.

"Dren, we are grateful to you for saving us and our lives." Etno said.

"You surely are a trustful humanoid being." Candy chirped, still hugging me. "Yeah, you're so cool!" Bud agreed, smiling a goofy grin.

I totally agree. But then my tail begins to sag. "I think now I know the whole truth. They know that we are real, true extraterrestrials, and I am a genetic humanoid. The Earth is not safe anymore," I then started to beam up. "...but now we can get away."

I know this would be true. I start to remember when that spacecraft crashed to Earth many years ago. When I see those strange people in the house, they realize that they are extraterrestrials, alien creatures from another planet called Zigma B, and for the first time in my life, I have so many new friends. Aliens are very strange to me. Now I understand the human's true purpose.
