I walked down the hall and opened Leah's bedroom door. She was not in bed, so I walked to the kitchen downstairs. I could hear two voices, and I guessed it was the television. Leah was standing over the stove cooking bacon. I smiled and walked farther into the kitchen. When I did, I noticed them sitting there. Lucas ran a hand through his blond hair and Chris leaned on his knees. I hid behind the wall. I knocked on the wall and Leah turned around quickly.

"What are they doing here?" I asked.

"The rest of the guys left early this morning, so they walked over to take us out, but I didn't feel like going anyplace." Leah said. "You know they aren't paying attention, right? Their outside." Leah smiled and I walked into the kitchen wearing only my blue underwear and a white oversized shirt.

"So, what did you and Jake talk about last night?" I asked, boosting myself on the counter.

"Well, I thanked him for the fun. Then last night, I walked outside for some air, and he was outside, too. We talked for hours. He's really nice." Leah smiled.

"Good." I said. I leaned over and kissed her head. Right then, I heard the door open. My head shot up to see Chris at the door. I jumped off the counter and bolted up the stairs. Once in my room, I put on some shorts and a shirt. I fixed my hair with a blue flower and walked downstairs again.

"Ha! I can't believe you!" Leah joked as she watched me walk down the stairs. I helped her grab the plates.

"I was half naked, Lee!" I protested. We walked outside with the food. After talking and eating, Leah and Luke excused themselves and walked down to the beach.

"Hey, I'm sorry for walking in earlier. I promise I didn't see a thing!" Chris swore with a chuckle.

"I'm just not used to having to worry about guys walking in. When we were in college, the guy's dorms were on the other side of campus, and my dad never walked in without knocking first." I said, shifting weight on my chair.

"Next time, I'll make sure to knock!" Chris smiled again, flashing his brown eyes at me.

"Do you want to go inside? You know, giving them some privacy?" I asked, nodding my head in Leah and Luke's direction. Chris nodded and I walked him inside. He stopped at the door and knocked. I giggled and invited him in.

"I just have to keep my promise." Chris said. Every bad feeling I had vanished as he said those words. We sat on the couch and watched some movie on Lifetime.

"So, are you a visitor, or a permanent guest?" I asked as a commercial aired.

"Permanent." Chris answered. "So what's the story behind you and Leah?"

"Well, we met when we were four. My mother had died when I was young, Leah's mom left her. Her and her dad moved into the house beside us and we got close. We are like sisters, and we replaced the space our mother's left in our lives with each other. We went to college with each other, dormed with each other, and now we're growing up with each other." I smiled, remembering my childhood, always having Leah by my side.

"I wish I had a friend like that. I'm sorry about your mom." Chris's hand found mine and he squeezed it slightly.

"Thanks." I smiled and squeezed his hand back. We watched the movie quietly until the next commercial break. "So, what is your life story?" I asked.

"Well, I was pretty average in high school, then in college I excelled and became a teacher at a local high school. My parents both died when I was in college, so I'm on my own. My younger brother Lewis is in college right now to become a doctor." Chris smiled

"Cool!" I smiled. The movie came back on, and it quickly ended.

"Want to go get some ice cream?' Chris asked. I nodded. He pulled me up with our hands that were still together. We walked out of the front door and headed down the street. After he bought us ice cream at a small stand, we sat at the public beach.

"I think the water is so pretty here," I mumbled as we watched the rise and fall of the tide.

"I think you're pretty." Chris mumbled. I looked over to see him staring at me with a smile. I smiled back. The calming sound of the waves, the heat, and the depths of his eyes encouraged me to lean over. I did not realize how close we were until I felt his lips meet mine. I closed my eyes to enjoy the kiss, but when I did, something fell into my shirt.

"Ahh!" I screamed, jumping back. His vanilla cone had toppled over into my shirt. I shivered at the cold. He helped me stand and I knocked thee ice cream out of my shirt.

"Come on, I'll help you clean up." We walked to the house next to mine and walked inside. He gestured for me to sit on the counter, so I hoisted my body up. He wet a napkin and started dabbing at my chest. After a second, I grabbed his hand and leaned forward. I kissed him slowly at first, then he kissed me back. He stepped closer and I wrapped my legs on either side of him, pulling him closer. I wrapped my arms around his neck and his hand slipped to the small of my back. We kissed for what seemed like forever, but we finally pulled away to breath.

"I better go change." I said.

"Can I come?" Chris asked. I nodded. I led the way out of his house and to my front door were Chris stopped to knock. He sat downstairs while I went upstairs. In the bathroom, I wiped off the remaining ice cream, and then put on my bikini, a new shirt, and the same pants. I walked downstairs to find Leah, Lucas, and Chris all talking. I took the only empty seat beside Leah.

"So, Kaytie, do you want to go out to eat?" Leah asked. I nodded.

We all pilled into Lucas's Jeep, and went to some local restaurant. I ate some spaghetti and the others got breakfast foods. After the meal, Chris and I walked home to give Lucas and Leah more alone time. The walk was pretty nice. One we reached my door step, Chris smiled. He tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear and smiled down at me. He leaned in and kissed me softly. He pulled away before we could get carried away.

"I would knock, but I don't think its time for a slumber party yet." Chris joked. I smiled and giggled.

"Goodnight." I said, kissing his cheek. He smiled back and waved goodbye. I walked inside and slipped down on the other side of the door blushing.

Hey guys, sorry for making their relationships rushed!

How do you like Leah and Lucas? How about Chris and Kaytie?

I just realized if you do the mixed names, its still Leah or Lucas and Caytie and Khris... lol:)
