I woke up to the sound of my litter mates yipping and yapping. I listened and heard the sounds of them playing. Had they opened their eyes? I looked at where the steady breathing of my mother was. I tried to open my eyes but it was like they were sealed shut by some unknown force. My mother had shuffled around. Suddenly her warmth was gone. Me and my litter mates yipped and yowled for her warmth. Soon enough my litter mates forgot all about her and began playing again. After a while my hunger spiked and I began yipping and howling for my mother. Eventually I heard my mother bound towards us. My mother plopped down next to me and  my litter mates. Finally I was able to snuggle up to her after struggling to get through my litter mates. Soon enough I heard the soft breathing of my litter mates as they slept.  "I'm bored.."  All I thought about was how my litter mates could see and I couldn't. I was torn by the fact that I couldn't see. My litter mates were better than me. What those voices said is true. I'm a runt, A mistake, and a stupid little puppy.  Pushing those thoughts aside I got up with my head above the ground and my weak legs holding me up.  Suddenly a loud noise caused me to tumble to the ground. My soft fur didn't stop me from getting hurt this time. A wave of pain was sent through my body. I whimpered as my leg twisted forward. "To think I could ever be like my litter mates.." I scoffed as the thought ran past my brain. A loud deep voice could be heard shouting things in the other room. Only a few moments later the same cold but warm thing wrapped around my body. My paws were no longer touching the ground. I was placed down on something soft. Like my mother. This smelled different though. It smelt sweet yet bitter. "I found the smell!"  I thought as the soft thing beneath me began to get warm. Was it another dog? It smelled and felt like my mother. The only difference was the slight bitter smell. I squirmed and tried to crawl away. It was no use as something was holding me down.  Suddenly the warm and soft thing was taken from beneath me. I was set on something cold. It reeked of my mothers scent. Has she been here before? I guess I would never know. I felt a cold thing cup around my muzzle. I suddenly felt sleepy and drowsy.  Eventually I had no control over whether I stayed awake or fell asleep.  My body went limp. I woke up. I could see?! Wait..it's just a dream again. A large hooded figure was running towards me. Their arms held out. I jumped and woke up again. Was it another dream? I woke up in a bed that smelled like my mother. I leaped out of my bed. The same hooded figure walked up to me. They pet me and give me treats. I was confused yet slightly amused by the fact I was getting treats. A very loud bark could be heard from behind me. I whipped around and saw a beautiful Australian Shepard. The dog smelled like my mother. Could it really be her? Could I really see? I ran towards her. I smelled the air and slowly ran. The strong scent of my mother made me believe it was her. I was about a pup length away when everything went blurry.
