Author's Note

The lounge was quiet. The only sound was fingers tapping on the phone's keyboards. On the couch, sat a man fixated on his phone.

Without noticing it himself, he smiled.

"Whatever you're reading must be something really good." The voice came suddenly and was especially surprising since the dorms seemed so empty.

Someone sat next to him. This caused him to look at the source of his surprise.

"Since you were smiling so fondly, Yoongi Hyung," he said, specifically saying 'Hyung' in a sing-song manner. He looked at him with a sloppy smile, which Yoongi scrunched his face at.

"Hoseok-ah," he simply greeted or warned. It was the aforementioned Hoseok's choice.

His face relaxed upon noticing something. "And what's with you? You don't usually call me Hyung off-camera," Yoongi turned off his phone and faced Hoseok, "You want to tell me something?"

Hoseok blinked, speechless for a second, but quickly recovered. That wasn't to say he'd immediately put his thoughts into words.

He hummed. "How do I put this?"

Hoseok frowned - not able to hold his smile for any longer. "Do you sometimes just want to experience the normal things we missed out on when we became idols?" He asked slowly.

"Normal things?"

"Like-- I don't know," he glanced at Yoongi, "romance? Celebrating without cameras around, partying--"

"I'm not much of a party animal," Yoongi said nonchalantly.

"I know, I know." Hoseok laughed shortly.

"What? So you wish you could have a girlfriend or something?" Yoongi asked with a raised eyebrow.

"If you put it like that, it sounds insignificant."

"But it is one of the things you want to experience?"

Hoseok pursed his lips into a line; his eyebrows furrowed. For a moment, he had to think over his friend's question. It was both the truth, but also not quite what he meant.

And he knew it sounded absurd too. Albeit Yoongi gave him a chance to express himself, so he would do just that.

"I want to experience romance not necessarily having a girlfriend, but I guess that's part of romance. But, you know, my heart fluttering. I don't know. Maybe something like you or Jeongguk?"

"Me? And Jeongguk?" Yoongi showed visible genuine confusion.

"You have an online crush. That girl you chat to online; you smile a lot these days," he informed as if it were an afterthought. Yoongi didn't have time to say anything as Hoseok continued, "And our Jeonggukie found the girl of his dreams."

"Literally."

Momentarily distracted, Yoongi forgot about the mentions of a 'online crush'. He nodded, knowing what Hoseok meant.

"Yeah, he meets her now and then, but they're obviously not dating," Yoongi said. "And I think Taehyung and Jeongguk made up after that too."

Hoseok agreed wholeheartedly that for both men, their romances they were oblivious to had done wonders for them. They seemed happier.

"Man, I'm jealous!" Hoseok whined. "Jeongguk was able to meet someone from his dreams. And I can't even meet someone from my childhood."

A smile crept onto Yoongi's lips when he effortlessly shook his head. "Is that what this is all about? Your childhood crush or something?"

Hoseok pouted to add to his child-like tantrum act.

"A little," he answered.

Filled with mirth, Yoongi's short laugh resembled a scoff. "Instead of worrying about someone you haven't seen in years, you should focus on teaching TXT tomorrow."

Hoseok groaned. He was never taken seriously when the topic came up about his childhood friend, but thinking about it, he wouldn't take it seriously himself. He missed her, but all she was, was someone he met as a preteen.

"Fine."

Byeol thought she was capable. She'd done a few volunteering here and there. Her internship involved another huge company and she managed to, well, manage every task she got.

So why was her stomach-churning while she followed her senior manager to the group she would be managing?

They told her she would only be working inside the building and during performances - alongside many others. Male managers usually accompany male idols on trips far away where paparazzi follow.

Majority, yes. Especially so for the more famous and loved male idols, but in this case, it was only due to her being inexperienced. She would eventually be able to accompany the group she was assigned with to a variety of places.

Currently, she was more stressed about meeting them for the first time. Her mind raced from one thought to another, imagining different scenarios and wondering whether or not they'd like her.

What if they hate me? What if they're secretly hooligans who bully their managers by making them run around doing impossible errands--

"Miss Choi, we're here."

In contrast to her inner crisis, she had a professional persona. Her facial expressions to her body language radiated that aura. She looked stoic to the senior manager.

The said man held the doorknob but didn't open the door just yet. She thought it was nice of him to warn her. He could see through her. He knew she wasn't ready.

She took a moment to straighten herself before nodding.

The manager then proceeded to open the door. Byeol could hear her heartbeat and she could feel the beating right up to her ears.

There they were. There were five boys in total. All of them were too tall for her to not look up into their eyes. All of them were good-looking too. She noted that all of them would make great visuals in their group.

Wow.

Everything feels so different when I look at them in person.

"This is Byeol Choi. She's your new manager, so address her as Manager Choi," the man introduced.

Byeol snapped out of her daze and quickly bowed. "Yes, it's nice to meet you. I look forward to working with you," she said, "TXT."
