Hillridge, Tennissee. Home to...fucking nothing, to be honest. Being here physically pains me, it's crazy. Walking home alone is horrifying, being afraid you're always gonna get shot, or robbed, or raped, or maybe all three.
I don't really have those fears so much anymore though. I've befriended almost everyone in this neighborhood, so i don't have anything to really worry about. If I did, I sure as hell would've invested in a car a long time ago.
As I make my way home from busting my ass trying to find a joint that wasn't closed--trying to get food for Bunny and I--and I had finally found one...that had a 3 hour wait. I was honestly surprised I even had money, given the fact I don't have any type of managment skills whatsoever.
"It's probably Bun's money. They always give me money like im some fucking charity case."
I make it to the house and before I even opened the door, I knew what was going down. Angels car was in the driveway, so it clearly was nothing good, unless she was sleeping. I quietly walk inside, and not to my--or anyones--surprise, she's screaming about pointless shit, as always.
"-Never do ANYTHING around this house! I may as well give you a fuckin' DOG BOWL and call you a goddamn pet! You already named yourself after one anyways! 'Bunny', sounds like a stripper name!" Angel screams.
Even though Bunny was used to it, they cried every time Angel yelled. They were sitting on the couch, huddled into a little ball, tears streaming down their face. I walk into the dining room and set the food down on the table. "Lay off, would you? They ain't hurtin' nobody. " I say, leaning against the wall. Angel rolls her eyes and stares at me.
"Okay, lets talk about YOU then, yeah? You're a druggie who can't keep anything good. You're a freeloader and expect everything to come waltzing to you in life, without any hard work. You talk about how much you love Bunny, but can you name ONE thing you've ever done from them, besides making them worry you're gonna overdose on the streets one day?" She asks, pausing for my answer. When I don't respond, she continues, "Exactly. You're a good-for-nothing asshat who can't do anything right." She says before grabbing her keys and striding out the house.
Bunny sniffles and stands up, looking at me. "Where were you?" They ask, wiping their eyes. "Grabbin' us food. Anyways, don't listen to Angel. She's an asshole who only cares about money and dick, you dig? She doesn't care about you, or me, or anyone who isn't her boyfriend. So don't let it bother you, yeah?" Bunny nods, but doesn't say anything.
"God, I really hated seeing them upset. I hated Angel even more though, because I know for a fact, that if Angel were the sister she SHOULD be--or a decent human in general--we'd both be so much happier."
I snap out of my thoughts and hand them their food. "I didn't know what to get you...so I played it safe; Cheeseburger with no pickles or onions." I say, smiling at them. They slightly smile back and bite into their burger.
Despite my life being total shit, this was okay. I mean hell, it could be worse, right?
