About a year after the three had started dating, Makoto woke up in their shared bed, with Byakuya holding him and reading a book. He looked to his other side to kiss Kyoko but nobody was there. He looked over at Byakuya again. "She's sneaking out again, isn't she?" The taller replied, "Maybe." Makoto sighed and told him to go get her.
About 30 minutes later, Byakuya walked inside, dragging a resistent Kyoko behind him. Makoto just grabbed her and pulled her back into bed. She pulled away, but Makoto held her tighter and Byakuya brushed her hair out of her face. The taller cupped her face and began to softly whisper to her. "Listen, Kyoko... I know you're trying to stop, but you need to consider that you're barely sleeping, and-" She cut him off. "I'm aware, don't lecture me. I'm not five."
"Alright, that's it."
Byakuya carried Kyoko, bridal-style, to another room. He started by undressing her and putting a warm, soft robe on her. After, he wrapped her in a blanket and handed her some stuffed animals. Finally, he placed her gently in the bed and snuggled her in the covers, stroking her hair softly. The detective smiled and clasped his hand, mouthing "Thank you" before falling asleep.
The next day, Makoto opened the door to the room and giggled at his usually stoic and grumpy girlfriend smiling and surrounded by stuffed animals. He hugged her and woke her up, which earned him hair ruffles from the taller.
