* Diary Insertion 'Annonymous' 1736 *
Where I live people die every day. Wait, what am I even saying? I don't know anymore. It's funny. People die everyday everywhere! This house has changed me. It's changing me. I can hear them calling my name... louder and louder day by day minute by minute... they're waiting for me. Watching me. I don't want to go.. but my time is nearing. I don't want to go.. oh god.
But I must..Goodbye.
--------------------------------------I don't remember every single detail about that house... like what color the curtains were, or how soft the carpet was because its been years since i've lived there. But, I do remember what happened there. What destroyed my life. I will never forget.
I was twenty seven years old, just graduated from college. Me and my boyfriend James were celebrating our five year anniversary, and we decided it was the right time to move into a house together. We searched for months, all over our little city for a nice house that we could just settle down in. We've been living in a small one bedroom appartment by our college for the last two years, we needed the space..
*flashback*
I sat in our car waiting for James to come out. He always takes forever to come outside when we're leaving.
"James!" I yelled when I saw him finally lock the door.
"Wanna move a little slower?"
he looked up and smiled. He jogged down the stairs, making his way to the car. He swung his door open and I gave him a shocked expression,
"He's here!" I squealed clapping. He shook his head and looked up at the rear view mirror, I smiled again and clicked my seat belt as we drove out of the parking lot.
...
We drove around the streets, making lefts and rights, me yelling the directions. He turned the music up and I tapped on the window. I lifted my head up and my eyes met a beautiful house.
"James! There!"
I screamed pointing infront of us. He drove in the driveway and turned the car off.
"Ready?"
he said grabbing my hand,
my heart fluttered. Five years of his touch and I still get butterflies.
"Let's go" I said back smiling.*flashback ends*
I still remember the woman in the black slacks and white blouse. She waited on the top of the stairs with a clip board and a smile. We introduced ourselves and she led us into the house.
The porch was surrounded by wooden poles, making 'Xs' along the sides. The door handle was on the left side of the door. She opened it and the stairs met me first. They twisted around to the left and met a hallway that stretched all around to a dead end. The kitchen and dining room were connected and the living room was big enough to hold everything in my old appartment. She gave us a tour of the house then me and James had to talk. We decided we wanted the house, which I wasnt leaving with out it anyways. We signed some papers and she told us she'd call us in two weeks to make our first payment and start signing contracts. After two weeks, we did everything we had to, signed contracts, hired electricians, plumbers and roofers. Our house was being re-designed.
After a long two and a half months, we finally started moving in.
It was perfect. Our dream home.*flashback*
Its our first night here. I love this house. It's big and open. It's quiet and warm. I think James likes it too.
"James, do you like it?"
I asked,
"of course, you like it, I love it" he smiled and I got in bed with him. We cuddled and watched the movie that was on. I rubbed small circles on his stomach as he played with my hair. I love him. I really, really love him.-A year later-
Mornings are different now. James doesn't make me breakfast anymore. He doesn't even wake up in my arms anymore. Every morning he sits at the dining room table, drinking coffee. Looking out of the window.
today i was getting an explanation.
"James"
I whimpered.
His head turned slightly,
"yes"
he said back emotionless.
"can we talk"
I said slowly walking to him.
"yes" he said again.
I walked over and moved a chair infront of him. I sat down and looked into his eyes.
"James"
he looked down at me. His eyes arent vibrant with color anymore. They are dull. Liveless.
"Baby, what's wrong"
I said raising my hand to his cheek. When my skin collided with his, an electric shock ran through me. His eyes snapped shut. I pulled my hand away slowly, and his head fell with my hand.
He opened his eyes and looked at me.
"I dont know"
he finally said after a long pause.*flashback ends*
James was my love. James was changing. James was changing at a quick rate too. I was scared. Night after night he didn't hold me, say goodnight or even talk to me. I was losing James. I was losing the man I loved.
