Yue POV

"I saw a similar scar like yours in Kai's neck. In his back neck you know. An exact replica. Are you both having matching tattoos?" I gave a sigh cause it was the 5th time in this week she has said about the scar. "I am very curious about it Yue. Won't you share it with me?" Fei pleaded as she tried her worst to get answers from me. I felt bad for her, pleading all the way just to gossip about it to others. To be honest, I wanted an answer for our matching scars. Kai, my co-worker and my teammate. I work for Etoile Clothing Pvt.Ltd as the SNS managing director. I have the full control over the company's SNS and Fei is my assistant but we are more like friends. Kai takes care of the legal court issues and acts a prosecutor to the company. There is a team to take care of the issues and Kai is a part of it and I kinda envy his job because taking care of SNS is very hard for one person to do it. I have to use the words carefully and post the right pictures according to the theme while not offending any culture. I still enjoy connecting to others. Kai doesn't have much issues to deal with so he stays idle most of the time but he gets very serious when it comes to an issue. Well, cut to chase, we both have a star shaped scar in our nape region. I haven't personally seen it but have heard from others. It's weird to witness someone with the same scar at the exact region as mine. I have been working for the company for the past 6 months. I am not sure how long Kai has been working but I'm sure he is a senior to me. Not to mention the fact, we barely spoke to each other. He does have friends but most of the time I find him with a book. Seeing him reading a book always puts my mind at ease as a bookworm. I don't remember having or getting into any accidents to have that scar. I quickly made a ponytail in my long ebony hair while correcting my outfit in the washroom with Fei as she was putting on makeup and styling her bangs. I adored her bangs a lot and even complimented hers. I wish to have one but I am worried of having acne and kinda don't want to hide my forehead. I always liked it. "Take your time" I made my way out as Fei packed her stuff immediately and joined me. We walked towards our desk and that's when BOOM. I bumped into someone, a tall figure carrying a humpty amount of papers. We both fell down while papers flying everywhere. I stood up on my own and helped the person with the papers and that's when I saw it. The scar. A sharp sting of pain occurred in my chest all of a sudden. Something. It felt like thousand of memories flashed before me. It felt like I am forgetting something very important but was it?

Kai POV

I was finally allowed to act as a prosecutor for the first time after being in this office for over a year. Getting the order from boss felt like honey. So, I decided to get files and notes regarding the case but little did I know that they would give a huge amount of papers to carry it by myself. I never depend on anyone so I made myself carry it, maybe that was my mistake. I made someone fall due to my carelessness and let all the files fly away. But that was not the only mistake I made, I bumped into her. The girl who have the same scar as mine. I was not able to stare directly into her eyes as my vision got blurry and my main focus, were on the files. I didn't want her to get in trouble so I managed to get hold of all the files by myself and quickly made my way to my desk. I controlled myself not to look at her yet I got a glimpse of her scar. With a pain in my chest, I left the scene without thanking nor apologizing to her. Gosh, I feel bad now. What had just happened? I questioned as I got back to my work. Maybe I was just overreacting? I should not be thinking much of the scar as it's just a normal reaction in the body. It's not like we are the only homosapiens who have star shaped scar in the nape. I consoled my mind as it was not a great topic to ask advice from somebody.

"Here, have my book. You can read it." A blurry little girl hands her book to Kai as a kid. "Really? I can have it?" A strange reply comes from Kai to which the little girl nods

Huh. I slept while working. Ah- my right arm hurts, I must have put my whole body pressure on it and slept, holding my nape. What time is it- Damn. It's past nine. A faint yell comes from Kai as he notices he was only the one present in the office. As he packs up, he notices a note stuck on his computer. "#0308 R:2 C: 14" He analyses the note and runs towards his office private library. 0308..... He searches for the code and finds a rack. Row 2 and Column 14.. Is someone playing with me? There's no book here. "Mister, can you move?" A lady staff asks Kai to move as she places a book in the same row and column. "Can I borrow it?" Without a second thought, Kai pleads to which the staff agrees and hands him the book. 'Yè zhī xīng' Star of the night? He thanks the lady for the help as he starts his way back home while reading the book under a starry night sky.

I am not sure whether Yè zhī xīng is the literal translation of Star of the night so please correct me if I am wrong. English is not my first language so please feel free to pinpoint my mistakes.
