The New Student

*The Beginning*

My life, my story.
The strive that pushes me to the limit -
the edge of hunger.
But I'm being rude;
My name is Luanna Quinn Rio.
I have four sisters and two brothers.
I, Luanna, am in the middle of it all.
This family and this life.
It's not the best.
It's not the worst.

I'm 5'3". Black hair. Blueish-green eyes,
18 years old with an ethnic, hispanic background.
And I only have one friend.
His name is Andres Arturo Medellin.

*A New Start*

Ever since i moved to Mendota,
Andres has been there for me.
For everything.
I can admit he was stubborn and annoying -
He wouldn't leave me be.
But he only wanted to know me.
I thought he was cute because of his smile and attitude.
Andres told me he wanted to become a social worker.
Honestly, he's good at it:
He is there to listen to me.

*Third Week of School*

Andres is in my US history class.
He's helping me to
understand the whole situation
of the chapter.
He is trying to help.

*Football*

Andres convinced me to be manager
With him and Tim Miller.
Being manager is fun because I'm able to make new friends.
Everyone is so nice specially Andres.

The incident

I was in second hour US History when
I got a pass to the office. When i went to
The office there was cops, they
Told me my parents were in a accident
Officer Tyler Michel said, "you
Need anyone to comfort you." Luanna said,
" Can you please get me Andres
Medellin for me he's in US History."

Comfort

The office called Andres Medellin, and there
He went nervously. Andres saw Luanna in tears
And the people crowding her. The moment he went in
Andres yelled," hey give the girl some space, then he asked in
The calmest voice gentle peaceful," what happened, WHY IS SHE
IN TEARS?" The officers told me everything.
Andres requested several water bottles, a quiet
Room, and a pillow. Luanna and Andres went to the
Nurses office for several hours, for the first few minutes she, Luanna
Couldn't sleep. Luanna asked me, " can you join me Andres."
Andres did, just to make her sleep.

Before the end of the day

Andres spoke to the officers, the staff, and the newspaper company
Don't tell no one or don't post it or write it.
They all agreed to him. At the end of school i told the football coach
That i Andres and Luanna won't be attending football today
Andres took Luanna to the accident site to see what have happened.
Luanna burst into tears and Andres was there to be there. Luanna only had him.

Few weeks later

It was the wake for her parents, she wouldn't talk to no one except Andres
And her grandma, she had other family members but she only spoke to them.
After the wake Luanna and her family went to the grandmas house to eat. Luckily
Luanna grandma lived in mendota as well. During the meal Luanna said to
Andres, "may i speak to you outside." so there they went out side of the house,
They stood there for a few moments of silence patiently.
After those few moments Luanna spoke saying," andres thank you so much for the support
It means so much, and i don't know how to thank you for all of this
For what you done." All andres said;" don't thank me Luanna
You need a friend and i'm here for you till the end."
Luanna cried because she never had a friend like Andres, he was the
Greatest friend that anyone could have. After that day
Andres was able to put a smile on Luanna face each
And everyday, because andres knew to beat depression
Is to do a lot of activities and that's what they did everyday.
