Villianelle relaxed into eves arms "I did it!" she spoke softly as she sighed in relief. "Don't you mean we did it.' Eve joked as she squeezed her tighter. They both chuckled as they let their bodies relax into each other, the weight of the Twelve pushing down on them had finally lifted. They were free at last to be at peace with each other unapologetically.
A bullet then meteorically pierced through Villianelle's skin, through her shoulder and through Eves. Their moment disturbed, Eve stepped back in horror, she glanced at Villianelle as she grunted in pain. Blood began to pour from Villianelles shoulder...
Desperate to hold Villianelle in her arms once more, to touch her skin, Eve kicked and pushed the water around her desperately. Her shoulder was throbbing in pain, but she could barely notice it as she tried to frantically use it. It was not as painful as the possibility of losing her. All Eve felt was pain her lungs began to burn, the fire in her chest spread from her heart to her lungs and the lack of oxygen left her disorientated.
Eve returned to the surface, she gasped for air and released a sinister, grieving scream. Her soul left her body, she could not see through the tears in her eyes, the adrenaline and grief rendered her dizzy. She could not lose her. She had already lost so much, losing Villianelle would be to lose herself. Eve dived back deeper into the freezing water, she swam deeper, distantly watching Villianelle's figure sink deeper towards the riverbed. Eve kicked, pushed, and fought back the slight currents. She did not care if this could kill her, she was already dead without Villianelle. Her lungs began to burn once more meanwhile the pressure of the depths pressed into her skull. A trail of Vilianelle's cherry red blood led to her dying body. For a moment the dreadful possibility that there was no hope clamoured through Eve's mind, boxed in by the pressure of the water. Yet Eve is persistent, Villianelle put her life before Eves, all Eve could do is risk it all for her. They are bound together. She thought about kissing Villianelle once more and then intimate moments they had in the camper van and their bodies being close once more. Eve reached out and screamed through the water releasing her last plea for air. She could see Villianelle on the riverbed she dived further, her fingertips finally grazing Villianelle. Eve scooped up her lifeless body and kicked off the rocky floor in a hasty effort to get to the surface.
They both emerged from the water, Eve gasped for air "VILLIANELLE!" she fought "Villianelle! No, no... no" she cried. "Please don't do this... PLEASE! I can't lose you too!" She continued to wail while fighting to keep them above the surface.
Abruptly, a loud roar in the distance neared. A speed boat ripped through the icy water cutting through the it towards them. "HELLLLPPPPPP" Eve pleaded, she continued to scream in hope that whoever was on that boat could hear her cries over the roar of its engine. In preference, not someone to finish the job either. The boat headed straight for them, Eve continued to bellow, the boat slowed to a halt next to them. Over the edge of the boat Eve could make out a face through her tears. The figure lifted Villianelle out of the water onto the boat and then Eve. Eve with the little energy she had crawled coughing up water towards Villianelle. She was losing blood the figure began to perform first aid on her. Eve wiped her face and her vision focused, the person saving Villianelle was Pam. "Pam? How...what?" Eve questioned before focusing back on Villianelle. "We need to get her somewhere safe" Pam announced. "I can't lose her!" Eve continued to cry. Pam cleared the water from Villianelle's lungs, she had coughed up the water but remained unconscious. "Quickly, apply pressure we have a chance of saving her" she demanded hopefully. Pam grabbed the first aid from the boat and ripped out the bandages and tossed them to Eve. "Here. Pack her wounds now... fast! I'm gonna get you out of here" She instructed while hastily starting the boat "shit, shit, shit!" she mumbled and sped off.
A bullet then bounced off the boat, another cut through the air "SHIT!" Pam swore as she ducked. Eve gasped and continued to hold Villianelle close to her chest while taking cover. A bullet then pierced through Pam's side. She winced in pain but carried on driving the boat until they were out of reach. Eve continued to assist villianelle, she held her wounds and tried to wake her "Villianelle please, don't die, don't die, don't die, please, please... I... I love you" Eve then pressed her forehead into Villianelles, her tears falling and rolling down Villianelle's pale cold cheeks. Eve kissed her parted lips once more; she was nothing without her.
They reached their destination where Pam was able to help Eve carry villianelle off the boat. They both stumbled in pain urgently trying to assist Villianelle. They placed her onto the concrete surface, an ambulance emerged from around the corner that Pam had alerted. The paramedics jumped out and assisted pulling Eve away from Villianelle slightly to where Villianelles finger slipped out of eves reach once more. In the ambulance Eve's head felt as if it were in a washing machine, her thoughts swirling around clashing into one another damaging her senses. Her vision blurred and the paramedics voice that spoke to her mumbled into the background noise as all she could focus on was Villianelle. The responders were frantically trying to keep Villianelle alive before reaching the hospital.
