All ben knew was that he needed to say something, anything for that matter. now that he knew her name, he should introduce himself and get to know her better.

Great! I just made it more awkward.
"How's your day going so far?"
Oh great! Now I look like a stalker. I barely know her and I asked how her day is. Gosh I'm so stupid.
"Good how's yours going?"
He seems really nice. I wonder how he thinks I feel about him?
Great now another nice girl thinks I'm a crazy stalker boy.
"It's going pretty well so far. What is your fourth period class?"
"Oh, I have Mr. Dave's social studies class."
"Me too! Maybe we could walk down together after lunch?"
"I'd love that!"
