Introduction

The picture above shows what the spot would look like. In real life, this anomaly is called sectoral heterchromia.

Everyone is born with a colored spot on their left iris. That spot's color corresponds to their soulmate's eye color. If the two soulmates have the same eye color, the spot will still be visible, if only slightly, as no two eye colors are exactly the same. Once they meet and make eye contact with their soulmate for the first time, the spot disappears and their soulmate's name flashes in front of their eyes.

If someone ends up marrying a person that is not their real soulmate, the spot in their eye will change to a reddish-orange. If the two non-soulmates divorce, their spots turn back to their original soulmate's eye colors. If someone's soulmate dies, the spot turns black.

Very rarely, someone who's soulmate has died can receive a new soulmate. If this happens, the spot will turn to their new soulmate's eye color but will keep a black ring around it.
