Heartbreaker

Chapter 2

This is just perfect. I am sitting in front of Adam Cleph with a face as red as tomatoes. This can't be happening.

"I'm um so um sorry-" I mumble.

"It's fine" he replies. He gets up and brushes the dirt off his pants. He holds out a hand for me and I take it. He helps me up and I stumble and fall. It just got worse. He holds out his hand again.

"I'm fine."

"Are you-"

"I'm fine" And he walks away. I figured just as much. I gather my things and walk away.

BANG! The next morning I wake up to the sound of something big and heavy falling in the kitchen. I look at the time and it reads 8:43. Oh crap! Im supposed to be on my bus right now! I forgot to set my alarm clock last night! I put on the first clothes I grab from my drawer. I run downstairs grab my bag and run out the door before I come back in to put on running shoes. Then bolt out the door.

"What about break-" My mom calls after me.

"Im late for school!" I reply sprinting down the street. I get to my bus stop and my bus is driving away.

"NO!" Ugh this is so frustrating! I have no choice but to run to school. Its about 15 minutes away by bus. I dont know how long by foot. So I start to run.

I arrive at school sweaty and tired. I made it minute before the bell. I walk in the school through the front doors. I head to my first class, english. Im good at english. In elementary school, I used to be the too in my class. While we started writing essays I would write ten times the amount everyone else does. I still do. I of course start daydreaming about elementary school and bump inti Adam Cleph fir the second time. Only this time, neither of us fall over, thank god.

"Hey," he says.

"Hi, I want to say sorry fo-"

"Hey, why do you need to apologize? Its not your fault."

"I just-"

"Hey look, Its fine." He smiles and walks away.

"Who are you staring at?" It's Selina.

"I wasnt staring at anyone!" I reply.

"Natalie, you can't lie! Everyone can tell when you're not telling the truth!" She follows my gaze. "You are staring at Adam Cleph! I knew you would like him eventually! I will totally hook you two up!"

"Selina, remember the last time you tried playing match maker? You pushed me towards George, I slipped on water and got a concussion. Please just don't get involved."

"Ok fine, love you." And she runs away. She's gonna get involved.
