Sitting at the background, drinking coke and eating barbecue while listening to my friend screaming out lyrics from different rock songs can be considered a stress relief.
My dad filed his candidacy for the presidential elections yesterday. And as expected, trash talk is all I'm going to hear from now on. Everyone is expecting us to lose this competition. Especially competing with the Pascuals. Our main enemy.
I don't want this election to ruin my precious career. I've worked hard for years and years for this and i'll do anything to stop that crappy election to bust in and stop my heart from doing what it wants.
"HUY LUTANG KA TEH? AYAN OH, SONG MO YAN! KANTA NA!" Dara insisted
Okay, enough with the OA moments. My time to shine.
Cool Ka Lang, my debut single that I literally considered as my baby. Music was lively and fun when I debuted! Until Mr. Pascual came to make my career competitive. Like it ruined the whole point of my entrance in the music industry.
Now here I'am. Singing my single like it's the first time. Not just because of it's lively melody, but because of it's lyrics. It's basically my emotions when I can't control my anger. It's something else to me and has a special place in my heart.... I mean it doesn't necessarily go to the point that I hate my other songs alright?
"Beh bat ang energetic mo ngayon?" Zia asks
"Hindi ba pwede ah" I said
"It's just that election day is coming soon and maybe positivity is what i need?" I replied
"Nagenglish pa toh ah, Lora, kung hindi mananalo o mananalo, chillax lang! Do what you love, love what you do" She advised me
"Copycat. Ako dapat magenglish eh"
"HAHAHAHAH sorry madame."
BREAKING NEWS: Senator Arthur Pascual and Senator Farah Dela Cruz reported to be partners for the upcoming Halalan 1997
Great. Another Betrayal. Senator Dela Cruz was on the same party, Laban Sa't Isa as dad. Guess she went independent. Politics is a literal circus. But that won't stop anything. We can't be let down by foolish betrayals and people who can't lead even a single group.
...Reported also that Laban Sa't Isa party, the same party with also the aspiring president Mayor Karson Diaz, will be sponsoring soon their tandem.
I. Hate. Politics.
After hearing the news, my dad left the Laban Sa't Isa party. He'll never get that foolish intention of going back to those traitors. He will be running as an Independent candidate. But no running partner yet. We are either planning Mayor Rivera of Davao or Mayor Gaisano of Bohol, close friends of dad. It's difficult being the daughter of an aspiring president. Especially with a rival not just in politics, but in music too.
"Pa, ayos ka lang po?" I asked him
"Sweetheart, I know elections days are the worst but i want to serve the country. You knew that right?" My Dad explained
"Right."
"C'mon, it wont affect your music career I promise, and don't worry, okay lang ako at kaya ko to." He promised
Even with the heated competition with the Pascuals, I know their is a chance my dad can win the election. Philippines needs its true leader. And i know my dad is that leader. Let's not think about anything close to negative, let's not think anything close to Arch-
"Also sweetheart, can you come with me to our last meeting with Laban Sa't Isa?"
