The stroll back was not as smooth as you thought it would be. By that you mean, it's a disaster. Currently, you're hiding in the trees, gripping the bark and letting the roughness bring reality to you. Jimin is leading the charge as always, and the school isn't far from here. But that's the problem. It looks like your problems have come back. Yes, by problems, you mean the damn Ranglers.

Yoongi is with Taehyung as his partner in the buddy system, Fiona and Julia together. Of course, you and Jimin are buddies. More than buddies, but that's not the point. The point is, there's a squad of Ranglers trekking down the road you need to cross to get back to the school. They're patrolling the area, according to Yoongi.

"Those assholes are all over the place," Yoongi whispers, the sun set thankfully giving you more cover than broad daylight would. The brush does the same, allowing you to sink closer to the ground to gain more of an advantage. "I can't go out scavenging without seeing them anymore. I'm sure they're looking for that school of yours. Monitoring it to see what new defenses you're putting up."

"Shit, I'll have to talk to Namjoon about our defenses," Jimin says, glancing out at the small squad of four. You know for a fact your group can take them, but there's one issue. The squad is better trained than you. And that's without mentioning there could be backup hiding around. You wouldn't put it past them to always have someone hiding in the trees. To be honest, there could be someone creeping up on you as you speak.

"If they're monitoring our school, we need to get back now," Fiona says, staying by her buddy, Julia. "I don't want to risk them breaking in while we're away. They're going to need all the backup they can get, especially now since we lost half of our people to them."

"I'm sorry to hear that," Yoongi says, the rest of you hanging your heads, then nodding. "I'm not sure we can sneak by them. I can since I'm just one person, but six? That may be harder, but we can try."

"I don't want to risk losing anyone. We have two choices," Jimin says, pulling out his pistol. "Option A: We fire on them from here and use the cover to our advantage. They have bigger guns than us, so that may be a dumb plan, but both of the plans are dumb. Option B: We try and sneak around and pray to whatever the fuck we believe in that we don't get caught."

"Both of those plans are shitty," Yoongi replies, Jimin huffing. He's about to protest, but Yoongi holds up his hand. "I suggest we cause a distraction. We're close to your school, correct?" The silence gives him his answer. "Then we need to cause a distraction just big enough to get their attention away from this area while we slip around them. The only problem is, I'm not sure how to do it without having someone split up."

"Ohhh hell no, that violates both rule 43 and rule 17," Tae says, Jimin agreeing.

"What the fuck are you on about?"

"Rule 17. Buddy system," Jimin says, checking the rounds he has in his pistol, "rule 43. No worthless self-sacrifice. If there's a way to avoid death, do it. Don't make a pointless sacrifice. There's no need to go cause a distraction alone. Stick together and let's find a way to do it together. Let's use the environment, shall we? Mr. Min, you're smart. Do you think rocks will do the trick?"

"The goal of a distraction is to make them think a zombie is around, not humans. If they think a human or multiple humans are around, they'll be more cautious. If it's just a zombie, they'll brush it off as yet another zombie and have a carefree attitude with it."

"With all due respect, these are the Ranglers. I can understand day-to-day survivors being carefree, but I highly doubt an organized government in the apocalypse would treat even zombies as anything less than a massive threat," Fiona says, and Taehyung hums.
