When I first met him

A/N: I finally made the prologue of when Kongpob met Arthit; it's short, but so is this story. If you re-read the story, do it while keeping in mind the discoveries in mainly chapter 6, I believe you may enjoy it more. Kongpob trusts Arthit from the beginning, and it's not just because of his condition; he's been in love for a while. Anyway, let's get into WIFMH!

Memorable.

Something is engraved on one's mind when someone saves you from an embarrassing situation. Because how can it not? You were ready for death, and you got saved.

That's how Kongpob felt when he arrived at College. He felt confident and ready for the new chapter in his life. College. He was wearing carefully ironed traditional black pants, perfectly fitted to his body, as well as a white shirt, complete with the tie and shining polished shoes. He was ready for the final interview! All his papers were in order, and he was a bit before the scheduled time.

Everything was going to be right, except that it was not. He had just made a huge mistake by sitting on a wet, recently painted bench. He could feel the wet paint stains on his back and bottom. He then saw the "recently painted" sign and felt even deeper shame.

What was he going to do now? He felt like there were tons of people around him, looking and laughing at his stupidity and misfortune.

Mortified, he looked at his phone. He had the bright idea to put his phone face down on the bench; now, it was unusable. He wanted to cry.

How unlucky could one be?

By looking at his watch, time was going by, and soon it would be his interview time, and he was still in that state. He was generally creative, but his anxiety was blocking him from being able to produce a sound idea.

"Rough start."

Said a voice on his back. Kongpob turned his head suddenly towards the voice.

A young man with a confident but caring expression and a red jacket was behind him.

"Phi!"

"Are you a freshman, right?"

The man asked while getting closer. Konpob nodded.

The man took off his red jacket and offered it to Kongpob.

"But, phi, the paint will get on it!"

"Don't worry, it can be cleaned. Plus, we take care of our own".

The elder one said while signalling the gear on Kongpobs papers as well as the elder's jacket.

Kongpob felt a tiny bit of relief and smiled. He then accepted the jacket and got up. The paint was black; thus, it wasn't that noticeable on his pants.

The elder talked again.

"Follow me. I believe we have something that you can change into."

And started walking. Kongbpob looked at his watch. He didn't have much time. And followed the elder. Feeling lost, he followed the elder around campus, going through a couple of buildings and several people, who all paid respect to them by bowing slightly. On their way, the elder told him about the different spaces they were going through: classes, cafeterias, workshops...

Bit by bit, the embarrassment got forgotten, and his confidence was gained back. They finally arrived at a workshop that had a locker room in it. The elder handed him a full change of clothes.

"It might be a bit big and not as well fitted as the one you are wearing, but it's clean"

"Thank you, Phi!"

"Arthit. My name is Arthit."

Suddenly a voice called the elder. Urging him to go back and finish something. Hazing preparations.

Arthit looked at Kongpob with a gentle smile.

"I need to go, but you can keep it. The clothes."

"Best of luck with your interview!"

And he ran out of the locker room.

When Kongpob was left alone, he finally realised how fast and strong his heart was beating.

"P'Arthit."

Then, he realised the time, changed quickly, and sprinted towards the admission building.

It wasn't until later, when he was home putting his clothes in the laundry room, when he realised that he had also kept the red jacket of the elder with him. On the jacket, as well as the other clothes, there was an AR engraved.

Kongpob received a call later from his brother that their dad had a stroke and would have to be moved to another province hospital. Making the hard decision, in the end, Kongpob ended up studying Engineering in another college, not the one where he met Arthit; however, that name was now engraved not only on his clothes but on his heart. His kindness and care towards a stranger, his resolution. Everything. Plus, he still had his red jacket.

Final A/N:

I would love the full complete story; however, probably it's not going to happen, so instead, I just wanted to comment some of the details for the story that I had in mind:

- Konbgpob that day called his brother, explaining everything and was so excited about Arthit. Sadly he probably never saw him again until when unexpectedly Arthit went to him. Or possibly he met him again, but Arthit never knew of him. Is it too much to fall in love after just one interaction? Maybe...

- Kongpob was not always like we see in the story. He used to have a normal brain and average control impulses. After he went through some traumatic events and got hit on the head quite hard, he ended up as we see. That contributes to his frustration and shame because he had a previous life, and he recalls how it was, and suddenly it all changed.

- Bright was from the beginning on it. He was the one trying to push Arthit to get to know and pursue Kongpob. Also, the call he made on one of the episodes was to Gun to update him on the advances.

- Gun knows from the start how Kongpob feels because he is the one that Kongpob calls immediately after the interview day. He couldn't stop praising Arthit. After the incident with Kongpob, seeing how he has become depressed, he thinks of Arthit and how maybe reuniting them might bring back Kongpob's happiness.

- Even years after meeting Arthit, because it was meaningful for him, Kongpob still remembers him fondly; and after his brain becomes a bit of a mess, the feeling of true safety that he felt when he had a normal sense of danger with Arthit becomes an anchor for him. Because it was someone that he deemed trustworthy when he could make that judgement call.

And this is the end end. Hope you had a nice journey with this story and that if you had a rough day, it could help brighten it a bit.

Best wishes!

XO-Hope
