The vampire kept to herself for the most part, making an appearance in the village every now and then when she needed to trade furs or meat from her hunts. Keeping her name a secret, everyone just called her The Night Wolf. The name suited her, as she would only venture into the village during the late hours between dusk and dawn. It soon was established that Wolf had some issues trying to trade late at night, that Lucien had shops alternate their hours weekly, where a couple of shops would stay open just for her.
Eventually, she became comfortable enough with the village, where she would come out a couple of times during the day. However, her ventures would be brief, as she soon discovers she couldn't stay out in the sun's rays very long. Lucien saw this predicament and brought it to the attention of his mother. They spent many a hour thinking of how to help their guest. And then Lucien thought of something. A cloak, like the gauntlet and bracer.
His mother got to work on the cloak, using biomancy and enchantments to create a cloak that would not only shield her from the sun, but a few additional attributes as well. Day in and day out, Shivera worked on the cloak until it was completed. It took nine days to complete the cloak. As Shivera presented it to Lucien, she informed him that the cloak needs Wolf's blood to complete the enchantment. Lucien nodded, taking the cloak into his possession. He ventured out into the village to try and locate Wolf.
After a couple of hours with an unsuccessful search, he made his way back to the Longhouse. On his way home, Lucien gets stopped by a frantic villager coming in from the wheat fields.
"Sir, there's urgent trouble..." the man gasped, trying to speak. "at the edge of the village." He began to hyperventilate. "Spit it out already." Lucien growls. "Wolf is under attack, at least 15 men, and dozen wolves." The man damn near faints from hyperventilating.
Lucien surges into a panicked rage, taking off towards the Longhouse. Shivera already seen him coming and had his gear ready, tossing them at him before Lucien even had a chance to stop his stride. With his gauntlet and bracer armed, he races off in Wolf's direction. Lucien's heart raced, as he narrowly avoided trees, branches, and felled limbs, trying to make it to Wolf. Lucien suddenly gets knocked to the ground, a bolt protruding from his shoulder. Lucien scrambles to his feet, his gauntlet taking the form of a claymore, and the bracer transforms into a Kite shield. He stands his ground in the direction of which the bolt came from.
As a second bolt is fired, Lucien's keen sight sees the glistening reflection of light shine off the tip of the bolt. He raises his shield in anticipation, as the bolt slams into a small field of energy, in front of the shield. The energy causes the bolt to fly off in a different direction. "Show yourself and fight me like a warrior, instead of hiding in the shadows like a coward." Lucien howls, as he rips the bolt from his shoulder. Lucien's blood drips onto the cloak, activating the enchantments his mother put on it. The cloak then reacts by wrapping itself over his shoulders. A hulking brute of an Ogre comes bounding out of the tree line.
Lucien thought to himself, 'I wonder what the cloak does?' No sooner does his thought register to the cloak, he vanishes into the surrounding shadows. The cloak produces arcane abilities, Like Shadow Step, and Invisibility, illusion, and others. it also can alter it's appearance to imitate the environment around him. The Ogre growls as he searches for Lucien. As he thinks and points to a location, as an illusionary clone of Lucien appears at the spot he was pointing to. Falling for the bait, the Ogre charges the clone, leaving his back exposed to Lucien. Giving a thought to his bracer and gauntlet, his bow appears and a quiver of vortex arrows. These arrows require a skilled archer to fire, as they require the bow string to be twisted as they're shot. Lucien knocks one of the arrows to his string, twisting the string to the right.
Lucien unleashes the arrow, causing the Tornado-like winds produced by the arrow, to create an inverted vortex of wind. The arrow slams into the Ogre's back, and creates a pulling effect, launching the Ogre towards the real Lucien. Already prepared, Lucien had another arrow knocked to the bowstring, twisted to the left. This time, he slightly tilts the arrow downward, to create an upward draft effect. Timing his shot just right, Lucien fires the arrow, sending it arcing upwards into the Ogre's stomach. It creates a twister, launching the Ogre a little over two-hundred twenty feet straight into the air. With over a two-hundred foot plummet, the Ogre slams into the ground at maximum velocity, becoming nothing more than a heaping mass of broken flesh, bone and pulverized organs sitting in a puddle of a black oozy substance. Lucien looks at the Ogre, shaking his head, "Ogres, all brawn no brains." Uncloaking from the shadows, he returns to his original path.
