Chapter 1 - Introducing Me

I'm your average 16 year-old teen wanting to get through high school without any problems. I have to admit, it wasn't easy freshman or sophomore year; I'm the - shy yet once you get to know me I'm fun - type of girl. I have the ordinary brown hair, brown eyes look, but if you look into my eyes when I'm outside, they're much lighter.

People think I'm too serious in life and they try to tell me to loosen up, but it isn't going to happen, not in school anyway. I have a slightly, okay, much higher IQ than most in my grade and I get straight A's, so I shouldn't have anything to worry about getting into college, except for I do.

"Sienna, honey, colleges nowadays want a little diversity. Instead of just good grades and good ACT and SAT scores, they want people who do a lot of extracurricular activities."

Yes, I'm Sienna. To be more precise, I'm Sienna LaRoche.

"Fine, but I'm not going to do a lot. I already run a fashion blog and I tutor the less intelligent."

"I was thinking more along the lines of sports, are there any sports you'd like to try?" My mother says while my mouth is wide in shock.

"You know I'm not athletic or sporty." I snapped back.

"Well, you never know if you like them if you don't try."

Giving into my mother as I normally do, I agreed with her and told her my top two sports I'd be willing to try. Those two included:

Gymnastics

Track & Field

"I also see you drawing in your notebook a lot, I'll sign you up for an art class."

A few weeks go by and we realized track wasn't my thing, I couldn't even run the mile that fast. Next up was art.

My mom signed me up for a basic drawing class and I just didn't find any pleasure in doing this.

I was petite, about only 5 feet tall, so gymnastics should be easy. I took a couple classes and I actually liked it. Mother was so glad that I found something I can enjoy in my free-time.

When I got home from school the next day, my mother said hi to me and I grabbed a snack and went up to my bedroom. My room was a typical Tumblr room with my name above my headboard and Christmas lights hung on the walls.

A few minutes later, I was buried into my phone trying to catch up with what I missed during school. I'm in a 1D fandom group chat on Twitter and they DM each other a lot; when I get off of school, there's normally 60 messages I've missed.

Anyway, my mom knocked on my slightly open door and popped her head in.

"What about managing a varsity sports team at your school?" I tilted my head and gave her a look of curiosity. "There are a few open spots for spring sports and I was wondering if you'd also be interested in doing that." She continued.

I mouthed an okay and she went back downstairs to finish cleaning because we have a family-friend over for dinner tonight. Mother, who I should tell you is named Kathy, normally makes this amazing meal consisting of chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and pumpkin pie (my favorite) as dessert.

The family coming over are the O'Bryan's. They own a barn filled with horses, they have so many that they don't have many more stalls to put the horses in. They just had a foal, so when that one can be independent, they'll sell him to make money and make sure the number of horses stay the same and they don't have to double up in the stalls. I'd love to have lessons every week, but they live about an hour away and that's a bit too far, especially after school.

After dinner, all the adults started talking about politics and I didn't really care for that, so I gestured to my mom that I was going upstairs to my room.

My goldendoodle, Gunner, was sitting on my bed and I smiled as I walked over to my bed. He's a really good cuddlier and somehow knows when you're sad, I guess it's just a magical power he has.

I got up off the bed and grabbed my MacBook Air from my desk and sat right back on my bed. I did more research about the manager job for a varsity team. I definitely wanted to do a boys team because they're more entertaining when they play.

It got late and I guess I got too tired to stay up, so I fell asleep with Gunner laying next to me.
