"We've been friends for years but I don't know to how to tell you this. I want to take this oppurtunity to tell you what I really feel because I may never find again the courage to express what I feel for you" Jake said
"Then tell me. Just say it! Do you want to borrow money?" Maya said while laughing.
"God! Do you always do that? Please not this moment. Be serious please. Just listen to me!" Jake pleaded.
"Oh...this is serious then, okay I'll listen!"
"Hmmm..Let me breathe first...Listen I don't know when where or how did this happen. I think I have fallen for you," Jake let the air out of his chest.
Then there's silence...........
"Hey! Are you there?" Jake asked 'coz they have been silent for almost a minute.
Maya laughed.
"Why are you laughing?" he asked.
"God...don't you say Jake, I'm going crazy here. You're asking me not to love you. Jake, that's I've been doing since the day I met you. Now you're telling me not to do so?" Maya asked.
There is silence again........
"Jake!" Maya shouted.
"I'm running out of words....Do you really love me?"
"Jake, listen...I have never felt this thing for someone. Believe me, I love you," Maya said.
"I love you more," Jake said.
Then they both laughed.

"So, what do you think? Will this proposal work for your bestfriend?" Jake asked.
"Of course! It will be a perfect proposal for Riza....It will be the best!. Maya replied
"You don't know what I've been through just to have this proposal for Riza. I don't know how can I express my feelings. You know Maya, thank you for listening to me. I don't know what to do without you."
"Never mind! I'm her best friend, I want you and her to be happy.."
"Thanks Maya, you're a true friend." Jake laughed.
"Yes, I'm you're friend and that what friends do."
Silence came in again.
"So.." they both said at the same time, then they laughed again.
"I think it's getting late" Maya said.
"Yeah. Maya...."
"Bye....."
"Bye....."
They both hung up the phone.
Maya slowly put down the phone. Her hands were almost pale because she's gripping to the phone tightly. Her tears kept flowing, then she looked at the phone and whispered..."I don't know if I could be happy 'coz you're my friend or should I cry 'coz that's all we could be..."
At the other end of the line, Jake is still holding the phone and looked at the picture at his hand "You're my friend and that's all I could be to you and what hurts me more is that you keep pushing me away and you don't know that all the things I said was meant for you...Maya."
