My backpack is hanging off of one shoulder, I walk down down the side of the street on the way to my house. This far outside of town there are no sidewalks. On either side of the road there was forrest, everyone is warned not to go in them. I'm not scared of the woods though there are only a few of the towns drunks that live in them.
With the high gas prices my parents couldn't afford to drive me all the way to school and back. My father owned the hardware store in town and my mother had always been a stay at home mom. The walk was only 3 miles each way, but I enjoyed it.
With my birthday being just around the corner I will be able to get my license, but unless I get a job I won't get getting a car or be able to afford the horrendous cost of gas. In Mooresville, there weren't a lot of job openings for teenagers.
After walking about a mile and a half my backpack started to dig into my skin. All my teachers decided that we needed to do a ton of homework to do this weekend. So that meant I have to carry 4 textbooks home and all of my binders.
When I finally reached the curve in the road that meant I only had a mile left. When I made it about 50 yards past the curve I noticed a guy standing outside a red truck. From what I could tell he had a flat tire. I kept walking when I finally reached the guy I asked him "Do you need any help?"
"Umm yeah that would be great." He replied after thinking for a minute.
He brought out a tire that he had in the back seat of his truck. It only took us about 25 minutes for us to change the tire, and threw the flat tire in the bed of his truck.
"Do you need a ride somewhere?" He asked after we finished
"oh no my house isn't that far away." I replied almost immediately i'm not that stupid to get into a car with someone that i don't know.
"Please let me give you a ride, to repay you for helping me"
He said as he put his tools in the backseat of the car. When he sat down his tool box on the seat I also saw a cage, like a dog cage. While i turned to look and see if any cars were coming because this guy who i didn't even know his name was starting to creep me out. When I turned my attention back to him he had are bodies pressed up against each other.
"What are you doing?" I asked nervously then I felt a sharp pinch on my neck. He injected me with something. I don't know what happen it was like I lost control of my body. My body wasn't able to hold itself up and I collapsed, but before I could hit the ground he caught me.
When he readjusted his grip on me so I wouldn't fall he started to walk over to the other side of the car. He opened the back door and opened the dog cage. He put my legs in first then eased the rest of my body in the cage. Before he closed the cage he took a rag from the floorboard and made it a gag. I tried to get my body to work, but i just laid there not able to try to get away.
He closed the cage and the car door and grabbed my bag as he passed it in the street. The driver's door opened and he got in and put my bag in the passenger seat. He started the car and did a U-Turn instead of driving straight.
After he drove for a few minutes he put on some soothing music and my eyelids began to droop. Then he said "Go to sleep babydoll." Then all I saw was darkness.
