"Darryl my boy how is Charlie?" Professor asked cheerfully.I was writing notes about Charlie states about how his intelligence improved over the months."Everything seems good Professor,Charlie has improved a lot and was able to solve the impossible puzzle you made for him and all the test he usually does" I responded as I read my notes.Professor seemed very happy about this Experiment that he worked so hard on.It took us forever to find a person who wanted to be smart but eventually we found a guy named Charlie that wanted to be smart so bad that he didn't cared what happened to him.He says he wanted to become smart because he wanted to be like other people since he was dumb and wanted fit in like other people.So Charlie had to do tests like telling me what he sees in picture,tell me a short story of pictures I showed him,do easy puzzles that Professor gave him,and race Sam the mouse in a maze.Before the operation he used to whine of how he can't solve a simple puzzle,he can't see any pictures or tell me a short story when I showed him pictures and how he can't beat Sam the mouse when they do the maze.But now after the operation he could solve all the puzzles we gave him,he could see and tell me short stories of the pictures I show him,and he will always beat Sam when they do the maze."Professor something is wrong with Sam" Alicia intrude.
"What wrong with Sam?" Professor asked."The nurse reported that Sam can't solve the maze and he doesn't want to eat or drink,Sam is going to die if we don't do something about it" Alicia explain.That was strange,we had Sam ever since the operation.This never happened.Wait-Sam and Charlie had the same operation...does that mean...it will happen to Charlie? I thought. "Professor...W-will this happen to Charlie?" I asked worriedly.Alicia seem worried about Charlie cause she knew what I was asking."I'm afraid it might happen to Charlie but we will have to see if that theory is correct" Professor responded.Charlie was like a friend to everyone in the lab.Whenever he pass someone he will wave hi to them and say that their doing a great job.That why everyone in the lab liked Charlie,he was support us to do a great job on the Experiment and was a kind man."Darryl you must not tell Charlie about this" Professor suggestion."But he going to figure it out when he see Sam" I said."I know I know but let him figure it out" Professor said with a sad expression.Alicia just nod and went back to work.I felt bad for doing this but I didn't want to tell Charlie either so I did as Professor said.I waited by the door thinking about Charlie and Sam.Everyone in the lab knows that Charlie and Sam had a good relationship and that Charlie had no friends or family.He doesn't remember what happened to his parents or remember how they looked like or their names.It was truly sad.I knew after all the test and puzzle I will have to take Charlie to see Sam where he will race him in the maze.After waiting for what seemed like hours I entered the room to see Charlie finished will all the puzzles Professor gave him.
