It was Jungkook's first time.

Of course, no one knew that.

When any of the other boys had asked, he had always replied with, "Oh yeah, I've done it loads of times, don't worry!"

It was a blatant lie. He had never done it, not even second hand- hell, he had never even actually been around it. And as he watched Namjoon's large fingers delicately roll the small discolored paper, the green leaves shredded thinly inside, he thought that maybe he should feel nervous. Jungkook had no clue what to expect. He had seen the others high before; knows how it affects them.

For Jimin, he gets very giggly and touchy, mainly towards Taehyung who just gets insanely hungry and touchy. Namjoon and Jin get hypothetical and theoretical, speaking about things that make Jungkook's brain hurt a little too much. Hoseok gets quiet, but not the same sad quiet as when he's drunk. It's more like a peaceful quiet as if he's finally stopped trying to watch out for everyone else. And Yoongi...

Well, Yoongi just acts normal. He doesn't laugh any more than normal, doesn't eat any more than normal, and doesn't touch or talk or stare off into the void any more than normal. When it comes to Yoongi, there is no behavioral tell that he's under the influence. He's just... Yoongi.

Jungkook hoped that's what he'd be like, just calm and happy and normal. When the others had asked what he was like, fearful of getting an aggressive flier or worse, a crier, in their group, he had told them that it differed depending on his mood beforehand. He figured a blanket excuse like that would cover any kind of reaction he might have.

There was a part of him that realized how unfair he was being by not telling them, the kind of situation he was putting them into if he had a bad reaction, but he also knew how they'd react if they found out it was his first time.

Drinking with them had been an entire ordeal in itself. When he told them that he'd never been drunk, only ever drinking one or two beers at social gatherings, they almost refused to let him join. If it hadn't been for Jimin and Taehyung sticking up for him, defending that he would be fine, then he most likely would never have experienced the dizzying sensation of intoxication and the mind-numbingly painful feeling of a hangover.

Even though they had let him join, Namjoon had refused to drink, worried that something bad would happen and no one would be sober enough to handle it. It had made Jungkook feel guilty. He felt as if he was keeping Namjoon from having fun just because he was inexperienced, and so when this particular activity was brought up, he lied.

"You never got drunk before meeting us," Hoseok had said in disbelief. "But you've been high?"

All the attention had been on Jungkook after Hoseok had made that astute observation, a slight flaw of sorts in his lie. Of course, it was possible to do one without the other, but it seemed more common to drink than get high. Jungkook had just chuckled, a hand coming up to rub the back of his neck as he feigned nonchalance about his answer.

"I was always warned more about alcohol than weed, I guess."

They had all shrugged it off, assuming that he was telling the truth because, why would their friend lie to them? Why wouldn't he give them a proper warning about such an activity? The guilt nipped at Jungkook's stomach.

Now, all seven boys sat in a loose circle, more of an oval shape than anything. Namjoon sat across from Jungkook at the head of the coffee table, legs crossed underneath him with an array of materials in front of him; a grinder, a pipe, rolling papers, five other blunts, and a huge bag of weed that Jungkook knows must have cost a pretty penny.
