Eclipse walked hastily down the narrow stone corridor of the palace. It wasn't everyday you were summoned to the war room by the king, even if you where his daughter like Eclipse. Eclipse felt as if the stone walls were suffocating her. She wanted nothing more than to be outside flying, feeling the wind under her wings or exploring the underwater pools hidden in the mountain caves. She wasn't necessarily claustrophobic, but she hated the layout of these corridors. They were so dull and repetitive, it was so artificial and the walls looked as if they could fall in on their own weight at any second. Even a bookworm like her could appreciate the outdoors compared to this.
She was snapped out of her hate of the walls when she heard a guard approaching her. He took a bow before talking. "Hello, your highness, did you get the message to go to the war room?" "Yes, I did, but thank you, soldier, for checking." She said while looking him in the eyes, making sure he knew that she appreciated his effort. The soldier nodded and walked of. It was always awkward talking to guards. Some wanted to be here, happy to serve the royal family. But a lot of them weren't happy at all, only here because they had to feed their families or they were enrolled in a mandatory act to repay the royal family if their family committed treason. She would know, she is an empath after all. She may not be able to read their minds, but she could certainly feel their resentment.
She heard steps coming towards her...

Eclipse recovered as fast as she could, looking down both hallways to make sure no one had seen. If someone had seen some random dragon hyperventilating on the floor they would probably think she was weird, ask questions (which she was not in the mood to answer.) or worse, pity her.
She didn't want her first impression on Jade Mountain Academy to be the poor dragon with anxiety problems. She came here for a knew start. To be viewed as a normal dragon. She didn't want to be held at different standards than anyone else. Whether they be higher or lower.
Eclipse looked down at the scroll she had been given by Fatespeaker, a bubbly, high energy dragon that seriously didn't know when to shut up. Fatespeaker went on a long rant, asking Eclipse all sorts of personal and sometimes intrusive questions as if she had never heard of the word privacy. Eclipse mostly dodged any of the questions asked until Fatespeaker finely left to go and do what she was paid for, giving new students their introduction scroll. She had been tempted to yell at her that it was non of her business who her parents were or where she lived or if she had any siblings. But again, first impressions matter. She really hoped that the dragons of this time weren't all like Fatespeaker.
She scanned the scroll for any useful information and her eyes landed on the winglet she was in. A new winglet called the obsidian winglet. It was a winglet specifically for hybrids. Not only did it list their tribes, but it also listed their pronouns. (A modification that had been made to stop the misgendering that had been going on in years prior, according to the scroll.) When Eclipse had been asked what her pronouns where she was very tempted to say the truth. She, her, or they, them, but she didn't feel comfortable telling a stranger how she really felt. She had never told any of her family, so how could she tell a random stranger who would write it down for the whole school to see.
It wasn't important anyway, or at least that's what she told herself.
Eclipse shook her head. She was here to learn about other dragons, not to rediscover herself. She continued looking at the scroll and found a note in it.
Due to their not being many hybrids in attendance here at Jade Mountain, we will give some of you your own rooms. But don't worry, this is just temporary! If you have no roommate, we will pair you up with one over the course of the next few months. Hope you enjoy your stay!
-Starflight
Eclipse rolled her eyes at the notion that any dragon would want to have a roommate. If Eclipse remembered correctly, Starflight was the librarian that had given her her library token. He seemed nice. He wasn't as chaotic as the rest of the teachers. Maybe she would try and get to know him. Well, not now of course. Now, she had a whole day to explore, and she couldn't waste it on trying to get to know a random dragon who who was probably busy doing his job anyway.
Eclipse set off, ready to explore this new and unfamiliar place.

I will refer to Eclipse with she, her pronouns as that is what everyone else refers to her as. Also, I will try to update once a week but no promises.
