I grabbed my schedule and made my way towards my locker and grabbed a few note books and pens for my class. The class was already getting full, as soon as I entered the bell rang and I heaved a sigh of relief.
I took my seat in front of the class on the second row.
A few minutes later Mr. Woodson entered the class ,some people started grumbling and mumbling.
Mr.Woodson is our biology teacher. He started the greetings he gives every reopening day ..Good morning class,he greeted. Good morning sir we responded. Welcome back to school.As you all know today marks the beginning of you second semester in year 2. This semester is going to be a tough one you are preparing to enter your final year. There is going be a lot of academic work and activities,and I hope you will be on your best behavior and do your best in terms of academics.
Group 1 please start with your presentation.After a few minutes group 1-3 we're done with their presentations,the next group was mine.
Group 4 please let's hear from you Mr.Woodson said.I grabbed my chart and pens and walked up the stage with my group members trailing behind me.
Today we are presenting on the topic Ecology,I said as I started with the presentation.After a few minutes, we were done and the bell rang signaling break time. I packed my things and quickly rushed to the cafeteria.
On my way to the cafeteria I heard someone yell my name from across the hall. Jade ,Jade, Jadee. I turned around only to see my best friend Kathryn Black.
She's pretty girl with ginger red curly hair, a button nose and cat eyes. She is a white and am a black,"proudly black ".
She looks like a run way model.OMG Jaaaaadeeeee, Kathryn screeched as she pulled me into a warm but crushing bone hug.
Kathryn let go, I can't breathe. Oops sorry she giggled sheepishly. All of a sudden she slapped my arm and I yelped in pain. Oww what was that for? I asked whilst rubbing my arm.
Girl I have been calling your phone since forever, I thought you were dead or something she said with a frown. I just looked at her face and started laughing at her. This caused her frown to deepen. Kath, I told you that I wouldn't be available this weekend because I had a presentation to prepare. Didn't I ? I asked with a little laugh.
Oh yeah you did,but I missed you soo much buddy ,she said with a cute pout. Aww honey I miss you too, I told her and she pulled me i for another hug, but this time it was more gentle. She pulled away after a few minutes and frowned again.
What is it now,I asked with a groan. If you truly missed me why didn't you come looking for me. I wanted to but I was late today, okay and besides I just left my classroom. I said with an eye roll. Really? she asked.
Yeah really. I said.
Seriously tho Kath you can be such a drama queen at times, I stated seriously.
Oh please give me a break she said with a scoff as we continued our way to the cafeteria.
