HELLO. I know I went silent from the last tutorial but here I am to make a little continuation of my ultimate & helpful guide for gifs. Now I will show you a quick photoshop trick on how to make the gif quality a little better with a sharpen! Again, I will work in photoshop. If this works on photopea or any other software please let me know!
STEP ONE. Animate the gif frame by frame in the "frame animation" feature in photoshop. Make sure that you finished your final touches and you are ready to save it as a gif.
STEP TWO. In the frame animation on the very right corner click on the settings and convert it to a Video Timeline. (credits for this screen go to https://graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/)
STEP THREE. Select the layers that were animated (this doesn't include the colorings, effects, etc. Only the layers where that represent the model) with SHIFT + LEFT CLICK and convert them to Smart Object Layer. Now you should have one merged smart layer to work with.
STEP FOUR. Select the newly created smart object and go to FILTERS > SHARPEN > SMART SHARPEN. You can keep the default preset or play with the settings. I suggest keeping the preview on to see what's truly happening and keep the sharpen natural.
When you're happy with it save it and proceed to repeat this step to the other gifs same with the smart object. (chia speaking: I do it separately for each of the models and never sharpen the full edited gif because I just like it better and it won't disturb the effects I want to have smoothened out)
STEP FIVE. Finally, save your gif. FILE > EXPORT > SAVE FOR WEB
A Lil preview (sorry it's not a gif, I made this edit so quick)
