Camila was so far away at that moment from everything in the world, everything in the world that is, except Aera.

Aera was all that Camila could perceive and understand. Aera was all that Camila could see and smell and touch and feel and it was excellent.

it was surreal.

Camila hardly dared to breathe lest she somehow dispel the mirage.

Aera's hands were wrapped around her neck, her thumbs stroking the place right under her ear, her body flushed against hers until she could feel every curve and plane of it.

it was unreal how warm and cozy Aera felt in her oversized hoodie.

Camila smiled despite herself as she, in one fluid movement, flipped them around so that now it was Aera pressed against the counter instead of her.

Aera could only gasp in surprise as she felt strong arms lift her onto the countertop.

she smiled the moment she realized what Camila had done and only gave her a sly smile before pulling her back in by the collar of her t-shirt and wrapping her hands around her neck again, a silent plea requesting more.

Camila stood in between Aera's legs, hands planted on the granite countertop on either side of her before eventually coming to rest on her hips.

Aera was delightfully eager in her kisses and leaned forward chasing Camila's lips adorably every time she stopped kissing her lips in order to kiss her somewhere else.

Camila's senses seemed both muddled and unbelievably heightened and aware all at once.

she could see even the smallest details on Aeras skin, hear both their raging heartbeat and their gasps for breath and be impossibly aware of all the places of contact between her skin and Aera's.

but at the same time, it felt as though the rest of the world had faded away.

as though Camila were seeing it through foggy lenses.

time seemed irrelevant, insubstantial.

every second felt like an eternity, but an eternity could've passed her by and she would've only felt it had been only a second.

her ears perked up in delight as she heard a breathy moan escape Aera.

she stopped kissing her neck and looked up to see the girl of her dreams, with her eyes half-lidded in ecstasy and desire, lips parted and swollen and an overwhelming rush of affection overcame her and she held Aera's face in her palms as she gently kissed Aera's forehead, and her eyelids, and the tip of her nose and both her cheeks before finally coming to rest on her lips.

she pulled back just a fraction to look into Aera's obsidian eyes and smiled before bringing her forehead to rest against Aera's.

Aera chuckled and pulled Camila closer against her if that was even possible.

"I never thought I'd get to do this," Camila whispered, her eyes closed and forehead still pressed against Aera's.

"Neither did I," Aera whispered back and Camila brought her into a soft, gentle hug. Aera felt peaceful.

it had been a while since she had felt that way and she knew it was all Camila's doing.

she smiled and dug her face deeper into the crook of Camila's neck.

she felt happy.

she felt safe.

they stood like that unwilling to part even for a moment when everything seemed to be so perfect.
