After a short nap I woke up chained u p inside of a chamber, my body looked weird and I couldn't recognize my body parts, the man in the lab coat from earlier entered the chamber and spoke to me: "Greet your upgraded body Alexander." I have no idea how does he know my real name (probably looked through my phone or something), I tried speaking but my voice box was making a weird raspy screeching noise.
The man in the lab coat introduced himself as Max. He told me that my voice box is still adapting to my body and I'll be able to talk like always. "Your body has entered a symbiosis with a "virus", your physical appearance and abilities are far greater than any human being, you may look odd to yourself but trust me it's worth it" - Said Mark with a little smile on his face.
"Now try breaking these chains, you're pretty strong, so it shouldn't be much of a trouble breaking them. "Like when a new butterfly is born is has to make it's way out of it's cocoon in order to get strong."
I started bending my arms and pull the chains, a loud metallic snap noise and both of my arms were free. I destroyed the chains wrapped around my "legs" that looked more like lizzard's legs with claws and were slightly sticky.
I never felt so strong and powerful, the excitement started pumping through every single cell of my body, I broke the steel collar around my neck and felt actual freedom. "Impressive Alexander, very impressive, not everyone gets control of their new form that fast" - said Max in a pleased tone.
"Well time to give you details on where you and me are and what is your first mission." - Max suddenly switched his playful attitude into a serious talk.
"We are in a research facility of company known as Laminax, barely anyone knows about the existence of this facility, this place is dedicated towards research of a virus that was discovered in an abandoned mine at Russia, we haven't terminated it yet because we don't know how to stop it and its capable of treating it's host's diseases and injuries." - Max switched his attitude back to less formal and more excited, "This virus can work wonders! Just imagine Alexander, if I'll be able to control it in order to treat people, every disease on this planet will be able to be treated! No one will need to go to hospital and spend weeks, months and even years on treatment! Not to mention that it will be more accessible and less expensive." - He couldn't hold in the excitement and started jumping around like a young child."Well back to what is your mission is, sorry that I went a little off-topic. The research facility was alright and functional till one of the researchers ate too much ice cream from the cafeteria, no one knew that the virus was able to get into food and various objects as well and use them in order to spread and make new species, the symbiotes that the virus forms with humans are referred as "gootraxians", since all of them have a slippery and sticky substance surrounding the "fur" they are covered by."
"Your mission will be capturing some of gootraxians and infecting them with nanobots that your hands can spread on their fur and get them under your control. And capture one sample of "plantix", its a leafy gootrax, you'll find them hanging around near the garden sniffing flowers and sleeping, shouldn't be a hard task." - Max stopped talking and brought a steel case inside of the chamber.
"This is your equipment, it has a toolbelt with all you need, special gloves that stop your hands from spreading the nanobots, a blowtorch to maintain the facility from time to time, screwdriver and a wrench and a sack for spare repair parts, a radio to contact me and a map with built-in navigation system."
"Try talking with your voice more so you get used to it faster, I'll guide you to the exit from this "safe zone" and you'll navigate yourself to the garden."
"A-a-rre thos-_ r_al human_-z? " - I asked Max with putting as much effort as possible to make my speech audible.
"Used to be humans, some of them may be still conscious and control themselves, if you ever find one of them capture them and bring them here. "
"Good luck on the mission Alexander. " - said Max as he was making his way to the control center.
