Oswald looked at his bunny friend, still asleep. He grinned, petting the rabbit.
It had been a month now. Most of the food in the stores he could walk to without a big enough gap to kill him was rotten. He was now hunting for himself, and scavenging.
He gently shook the rabbit awake "Good morning, bud!" He gave the rabbit a little kiss, smiling fondly at his companion.
He stood up out of his sleeping bag and rolled it up. He started to walk, and his rabbit knew to follow. He had managed to steal a gun from a local Walmart, as well as bullets from a gun store. He was originally going to use the gun as a bat-like object- but he had bullets now and figured out how to use it.
He picked up his gun beside where his sleeping bag lay, and began to venture further into the woods. He was going to catch, skin, and cook a deer- he had a little experience with this.
Oswald headed off in a jog, which was fast enough and silent enough.
It wasn't soon until he was in a meadow, a whole oblivious herd in it. This was perfect.
Oswald frowned as he aimed and shot, for he felt bad.
The deer was quickly dead, for he managed a headshot. Oswald walked over, a frown forming. His rabbit companion came up and climbed him, soon nuzzling his face as he cried.
End of ch. 1!
