I ran through the never ending forest, feeling my legs lose their ability to move but I didn't have time to stop. I looked back at the herd of what I call zombies coming after me. The reason I call them zombies is because they are so much similar to the zombies we see in movies, flesh eating and heartless.
I've seen what just one of those things can do to a person, imagine what a whole group of them could do.So I kept on running, hoping that I could find a place to take shelter, maybe even some people to ease the loneliness I've been feeling for the past 7 months since the whole apocalypse started. I lost my my parents to the zombies during these 7 months. The idea of me surviving this long on my own seems barley possible, but I'm still here and going, barley.
After what felt like hours but in reality were just minutes, I saw something ahead of me. I couldn't make out what it was from afar but the idea of finding someplace safe to stay got me running at the speed I thought was impossible for someone like me.
As I got closer I could make out a prison. Although it was surrounded by zombies, I could still see a few people inside the prison. They were all calm as they each took a swing at the zombie's heads, killing them off one by one.I have no idea who these people are or what they would do to me the moment they see me. From what I've seen so far, people tend to lose their humanity during times like this so I had to be prepared for the worst.
I wanted to give a shot at sneaking in, to have the upper hand against the strangers, and as reckless as that sounds I had to give it a shot.
So I slowly made my way to the less crowded side of the prison but just as I was about to reach the steel that protected the people inside from the outside world, I heard a footsteps coming in my direction and looked up just in time to see a man coming to my aid as he helped me get inside the prison.
