Obito thought he had been the first one to realize his feelings for the one and only Uzumaki Naruto.
It wasn't hard to figure out, especially when it was easy falling for the guy. And because of that, he wanted to get Naruto alone with him in the most discreet and unassuming way possible, which led to devising his own plan.
So, on a night when the Uchiha men had game night and had gathered in Naruto's room for a hangout, Obito decided to take advantage of the situation by suggesting they play a game of truth or dare.
The dares were mostly harmless, of course. Though it was to be expected that some– perhaps most– of it did involve doing things with Naruto which was mixed with other generic dares.
When most of the Uchiha members hummed out their assent, Obito grinned widely and brought out two small jars with half-filled paper on the inside.
Everyone had sat in a circle in the middle of Naruto's bedroom, with Madara beside Izuna while Izuna was on the right beside Naruto and Obito himself on Naruto's left side. Shisui sat beside him, with Itachi by Shisui's other side which was then followed by Fugaku, Sasuke, and Indra.
"Oi, Obito," Madara faced him and cocked an eyebrow. "You start picking the first one, since you're the one who suggested it."
Obito felt himself deflate a little that he wasn't going to be the first one, but he supposes it's a blessing since there's a chance he could pick the dares that didn't have to do with Naruto if he were to be first.
He pondered on who to choose for a good minute, making everyone look at him in anticipation.
Finally, he looked at his younger cousin and said, "Shisui, truth or dare?"
All the attention then turned to Shisui who smirked in response, eyes bright with the challenge as he proudly responded with, "dare. Give me a good one, Obito."
Most of the people in the room cheered while the others whistled, egging Shisui on.
Obito smiled at his family's antics and crossed his fingers in hopes that Shisui wouldn't pick the dares with Naruto in them as he handed the boy the jar.
The raven-haired boy inserted two of his fingers in the jar, mixed it, stopped, grabbed for one, and pulled it out.
Obito prayed it didn't involve Naruto and–
"Let Naruto sit on your lap until someone chooses truth."
A muscle on Obito's jaw twitched.
Not what I wanted to happen .
Obito chose that dare specifically because he knew every Uchiha member had too much pride to pick truth. He sighed as he thought that it would've been the perfect excuse to have Naruto sit on his lap the entire game without raising any suspicion.
Obito then noticed the room becoming silent, so he scanned the vicinity and saw varying degrees of expressions. Some looked like they were glaring at Shisui, while others looked curious or excited.
"C'mon, Naruto," Shisui beckoned a blushing Naruto to his lap, his smile becoming sharper.
Obito watched Naruto stand up and robotically move to where Shisui was. After hesitating for a fraction of a second, he turned and carefully sat down at the center of Shisui's crossed legs.
"I'm sorry for this, Shisui-san."
"Stop saying sorry," the raven haired boy then wrapped his arms around Naruto's waist and pulled him flush to his chest to rest his chin on the boy's shoulder. "Now, be a good boy and stay like that."
