Special Adoption Pt. 1

Beep. Beep. Beep.

I groan, rubbing the tiredness from my eyes. I roll over and hit my hand on the alarm clock next to me, to stop the annoying beeping. "Another day, another disappointment." I say to myself. As I'm getting up from my bed, I hear a knock on my door. "Yes?" I answered. "Is it okay if I come in?" I hear Abby ask. I sigh and roll my eyes. This chick always got on my nerves. "Sure."

Abby opens the door and steps in. She closes the door behind her. "Oh my god Sky I got great news!" Abby squeals, jumping up and down. I cross my arms. "What?" I ask. "There's someone really special coming here and looking for someone to adopt!"

My eyes go big. No one has been here to adopt for a year. "Really? Do you know who?" I ask. I open my dresser and grab a pair of ripped black skinny jeans and a black hoodie. "I don't know who exactly, but I heard they're kinda famous!" Abby says. I sigh. "They won't adopt me for sure." I say in my head. "Can you get out? I need to get dressed." I ask Abby. "Yeah, sure." Abby skips out of my room and closes the door. I put on my clothes and brush my long dark brown hair. I put my torn up black converse on and walk out of my room, closing the door behind me.

"Oh hey, bum. Heard the news?" I hear Emma snicker. I clench my fist and turn around. "I don't think they'll adopt you because well.. have you seen yourself?" She smiles and my face grows red in anger. "I don't think they'll adopt a little snobby bitch either." I tell her. She gasps and runs over to Shirley, the lady in charge. I see Shirley look at me and then her. They start coming towards me. I cross my arms. "Skyler, is it true you called her a 'bitch' and told her she might not get adopted?" Shirley asks. I look over at a fake crying Emma and look back at Shirley. "Yes, yes I did. She called me a bum and I wouldn't get adopted because of the way I look." I answer Shirley. "No I didn't!" Emma fake cries. The front door bells ring and two men appear.
