Summoner: a new set of battlemages

When it "Raynes" it storms

ok, it's been almost a week and we will be in the capital tomorrow night or the following morning at the latest and neither Felix nor Cedric have opened up much to me. what little small talk I can drag out of them isn't going to help them make friends. and Raven has been as closed off as when we first set out. I'm not sure what lady Sylva said to her, but it seems to have shaken her to the core. I guess that it has to do with her having a demon now instead of waiting like the rest of us, but it shouldn't matter we all have to get along and make friends and show the world we can be a part of it, instead of hidden away in our forests. "Guards if you could please give us all a few minutes alone I have some things that need to be said to my fellow summoners in training."

the guards get up and leave us right away. and my three companions all turn to me "lady Rayne is everything alright?"

"NO FELIX EVERYTHING IS NOT ALRIGHT! YOU AND CEDRIC HAVE BARELY SAID MORE THAN A HANDFUL OF WORDS TO ME IN THE LAST WEEK OF TRAVELING! AND DON'T YOU THINK FOR A SECOND RAVEN THAT ANYONE HASN'T NOTICED YOUR SULKING ABOUT WHEN YOU'RE NOT HIDING UP IN THE SKY." I take a deep calming breath "the three of you are going to have to try and come out of your shells more and open up to people. or every human and dwarf will think we are all as stuck up or worst as the human nobles that once made us the enemy during the last war."

Felix looked to Cedric and then both looked back to me. "Lady Rayne, it is not permitted for lowly Wood Elves to speak to High Elves without first being spoken to. It's how we are raised much like how humans are cast into their own two different categories."

"I DON'T CARE!" I take another deep breath. "About any of that, we are all now ambassadors of our people as well as fellow summoners in training. from what I know we may be separated to a degree when we get there. so, Felix and Cedric you will have to try and open up to others more than you have with me. unless you want to become loners and bring shame to your tribes and our people. and Lady Sylva warned us to try to not do that at all costs. we have to make friends and come together with our fellow trainees if all of our people are to help maintain the peace that has gone on for most of our lives. oh, and one more thing no more of that Lady thing before you say my name, I'm not the chief and will likely never be so just use my name will you." both of the boys shake their heads and promise to try harder once we make it to the academy.

I then move over to Raven. "And as for you, snap out of it we are off to become battlemages so stop your sulking like a little child. out of the four of us, your standing is the highest of our race you will be treated like a human noble once we get to the academy. and if what I have seen of you is right you think of yourself as one. you are a bit stuck up and think you're better than others. I have spent most of my life between our lands and those of the human king. my best friend is a human she is the third child of their ruler with a fulfillment level likely higher than the four of us combined. and do you know what, she has done everything in her power to try and be a normal girl. so do yourself a favor and try to learn from that and bring yourself down a little bit! I know something is wrong with you and if you wanted to share any of us would be happy to hear you out. but you haven't. so just try and move past whatever has you so down and just be in the moment. we are going to a new place with new people to hopefully make new friends." I then lean down and whisper so only she can hear me. "And it may surprise you but there are more than a few cute boys in the human lands. just because we are told to not mate outside our race doesn't mean we can't enjoy the views."

Raven's cheeks turn a bright red. "I will remember that and try to bring honor to my tribe as well as come out of my shell." at that she then turned to the boys. "so Felix, Cedric do either of you plan to go out for the Celestial Corps? what about you Rayne? it would be great to have someone else up in the sky with me for training." I can't help but giggle at her outburst.
