"Better get the cloak..." Ron whispered to Harry as the last of the people in the common room went to bed. The entire night, no one bothered us or paid us any mind, and while it usually bothered me a little, this time I was grateful. We had spent the entire day nervous and on edge about what we were planning to do. I spent most of the time with Hermione as we searched through our books and notes hoping for anything that could help us.

Harry nodded and ran upstairs to his dorm room and came back a minute later with the Invisibility Cloak and the poorly homemade flute Hagrid had made him for Christmas. "Why are you being the flute, Harry?" I asked him. He shrugged, "I don't feel like singing for Fluffy." We all nodded in understanding.

"We should try the cloak on now to make sure that it'll cover all of us- if Filch spots our feet wandering around on their own-" But Ron was cut off by a nervous voice coming from behind one of the armchairs, causing all of us to jump.

"What are you doing?" Neville asked us, holding onto Trevor, who was attempting to make another getaway.

"Nothing, Neville, nothing..." Harry responded, hiding the cloak behind his back. Sadly, Neville was smarter than that. It was silent for a moment.

"You're sneaking out again." It wasn't a question.

"No, no, no." Hermione quickly cut in. "No, we're not. Why don't you go back to bed, Neville?" The four of us kept glancing at the clock, knowing we'd have to hurry this up or Snape would beat us to the Stone.

"You can't go out." Neville pleaded. "You'll get caught again. Gryffindor will be in even more trouble."

"You don't understand, this is important!" Harry tried to reason, but Neville wasn't going to surrender and made his way in front of the portrait hole.

"I won't let you- I'll... I'll fight you!" He tried to sound threatening. I shared a look with Hermione.

"Neville!" Ron cut in, having enough of this. "Get away from that hole and don't be an idiot-" Oh no...

"Don't you call me an idiot!" Neville snapped back. "I don't think you should be breaking any more rules! And you were the ones who told me to stand up to people!"

"Yes, but not us! Neville, you don't understand what you're doing." Ron tried to take a step forward but Neville backed up a step, dropping Trevor.

"Go on then, try and hit me!" Harry then looked at Hermione and whispered, "Do something." She nodded and stepped forward with a guilty look on her face, taking one last glance at me before pulling her wand out the same time I did.

"Neville," She started. "I'm really, really sorry about this." The both of us lifted our wands, but while Hermione's was facing Neville, mine was facing the couch.

   "Petrificus Totalus!"

"Wingardium leviosa!" We said at the same time, me sending a couch cushion to help break Neville's landing, who became as stiff as a stone from Hermione's spell and had fallen hard. The only part of him that could move were his eyes, which stared at us horrified.

"What did you do to him?" Harry asked, concerned.

"it's the full Body-Bind," She answered before looking back at Neville. "Oh, Neville, I'm so sorry."

"You're a little scary sometimes... Do you know that? Brilliant! But scary." Ron meekly asked Hermione, whose cheeks turned a little red from the compliment.

"I'm sorry, Neville. I promise I'll explain everything later." And with that, we pulled on the cloak and rushed out of the portrait hole and to the third corridor, feeling guilty about leaving Neville behind the entire way. Every statue looked like Filch to us in our anxious state and I grabbed onto Ron's hand.
