For the final few days counting down to the state game, they were definitely nerve wracking ones. We were starting the second semester of the school year, and I was also super busy with soccer. However, we won both our games this week. After Thursday's game, I called Ryder since the football team left a day early for the game considering how big it is.

"How did it go?" he asked with a smile.

"We won," I replied.

"Atta girl. How many goals did you score?"

"Two."

"That's my girl. So when are you making your way to Fresno?" he asked.

The game was to be held there, at the college. So, my mom and I were going to leave tomorrow morning since my dad took the bus with the team.

"We leave tomorrow morning. How was the drive?" I asked.

"Long. I can't wait to see you."

"Me too, babes. I need to pack, but I'll talk to you tomorrow, okay?"

"Alright, good night, gorgeous. Sleep well."

I flopped back onto my bed and smiled after hanging up the phone. I just simply love Ryder so much.

The next day, my mom and I left bright and early for the football game. Truly, I could not be more excited because the boys have worked so hard... and it really has paid off because they are playing in the state champs game, tonight.

It was a three or so hour drive, and when we reached Fresno, it was only lunchtime. So, we decided to go shopping and get food before heading over to the stadium.

As we wandered through a mall, I received a call from Ryder.

"Hi, Ry."

"Did you make it safely?" he asked.

I laughed softly. "Yeah. We're shopping right now. Where are you?"

"Getting ready to head over to the stadium, so I'm at the hotel right now."

"Alright, I'll meet you there. Good luck, qb," I said.

"Thank you, baby. See you soon."

After hanging up, I turned to my mom. "They are heading to the stadium."

"Perfect, let's go now, then."

The college was only a short drive away from the mall, but we got there around the same time as our team.

It was clear Beverley was already here because their bus was parked not too far away.

"I hope we win," I said as my mom and I made our way over to the bus.

Many people, mostly students, stood around it to cheer on the players. It was a long commute, but it was honestly amazing seeing so many people from our school here to support our boys.

"Here they come," said my mom as the doors to the bus opened.

One by one, each of the boys filed off the bus. They each wore suits, just like last time.

A smile spread onto my face as Ryder got off. Our eyes met immediately and he came over to my mom and me.

"Kat, Ainsley," he said. He kissed the top of my head gently. "I'll see you inside."

We shared smiles as I admired him in his suit. "I love you," I whispered.

"Love you too."

After they were all off, my dad approached my mom and me. "My girls," he said as he pulled us in for a hug. "Have a safe trip?"
