do you ever expect to find a buffalo named Jorge who is fluent in seven languages and has a ethical mindset that you cannot walk lest you step on a bug and must somehow evolve into a friendly fire breathing dragon in order to save life on earth when you wake up?
i didn't think so.
likewise, no one expects to wake up in a abandoned room with no recollection of the past except for your name and age. no one expects to see their death before it happens. and no one expects to have someone else's memories in their mind. and someone else's life in their hands.
my name is Arie, last name unknown, and i'm 15 years old. that's the only thing i can be sure of, because its the only thing i remember when i wake up everyday in an abandoned room with no memory of the previous day, or the years before them. i know that i wake up in the room, and i never wake up anywhere else.
but surprise! when i woke up today, i had memories.
memories of someone else, who was not me, jumping in front of a car.
memories of me slitting my throat in front of a blue eyed, tousled brown hair teenage boy.
memories of me watching his throat rip open as i did.
memories of my throat not.
memories of someone else kissing the blue eyed boy.
something that i used to long for, something i would kill for.
but now, i want to forget all of these,
memories.
