Dear Father

You left me when I was young
I don't remember you all that much
I remember your smile and eyes, but it seems I forgot your voice
I know your leaving was unplanned
I know you had no control over it, but it still hurts
It scares me as I get older the more things, I forget about you
I hear stories about you from my mom and aunties
I see you in my siblings
I see you when they smile
I see you in their eyes
Your leaving hurt
It's even more painful because you'll never return
I'm writing you this letter in hopes that this pain I feel leaves
That one day when I look at your picture, I shed no tears
I wish you could read this
Wish they had a mailing system so you could receive it

Love always,
Your Daughter
