Hayden's POV
Skating out onto the ice I feel the energy from the crowd, the excitement from the team is palpable. We have won all season and tonight will be absolutely no different. Here we come to lay everything on the ice.
I look to the crowd, Puck Bunnies Galore as the team would say, but as I keep looking I notice a girl with her hair in a bun and her face in a book. Connor pats me on the back and the game buzzer sounds off.
We are up 5-2 and we are in the last minutes, we are getting this win. I skate down the ice and another shot right off the edge of my stick, and a miss from the goalie and I hear screams and cheers from the crowds.
We won...As my team surrounds me the girl with the bun catches my eye again, her friends dragging her along as she looks up, her striking blues eyes catch mine, she shakes her head and turns away.
The boys continue talking about all the shots of the game and I can't get those damn eyes out of my head, I don't have time for that. Coach would have my ass and I'm not gonna give him the satisfaction. We have kicked ass this season.
Time to party.
I finish my shower and change, grabbing my bag I walk out and throw it in the back of my charger. My friends tossing their stuff in as well I close the trunk and we head to the bar."Shots McDavid" I agree, heading up to the bar. We take back one...two...three...well shit I've lost count. The pain from the game behind me, a girl saunters over. "Nice win tonight big boy" she places her hand on my shoulder.
"Sorry, I'm not interested" she pouts. As I roll my eyes she puffs out a breath and moves down the line of my team mates. Fucking puck bunnies.
