Bristlefrost was walking through ThunderClan's territory, the moon lighting up her path. Anxiety prickled at her pelt. It was nighttime now, and she was headed to her former home.
After Willowshine showed her some of StarClan's territory, she went back to Snowtuft and Antpelt, and they looked very happy. She also met Rosepetal, her former mentor, and Stemleaf, and while they were surprised to see her there, they were also very happy and proud of her.
Suddenly, she remembered how, many moons ago, she loved Stemleaf and she wanted to take her warrior assessment early so she could become mates with Stemleaf, and Rosepetal agreed with her decision. She tried not to purr in amusement. That was such a long time ago, and now it was a funny memory. Some actions that you take when you're younger are so weird, but so funny and significant at the same time. But I only feel like this because I've grown older.
She also met Graystripe while in StarClan, and she was surprised when she found out that the tom had died. But he looked way younger, healthier and happy now, and he was very happy to be reunited with all the cats he lost. She also found out that Spotfur finally had her kits. Three kits: Bristlekit, Stemkit, and Graykit.
Bristlekit. She knew that the she-kit was named after her, and when she found that out she broke into a purr. A kit is named after me. Oh, Spotfur..
Suddenly, she saw the thorn barrier in front of her, still and untouched. She hesitated, then walked through it. She expected the thorns to scrap her fur, like they used to do so many times, but they didn't. She sighed. I'm a StarClan cat now. The living world almost doesn't affect me at all anymore.
She padded in the camp and froze, looking around. Here she was, standing in her former home after so long, yet it looked the same as she remembered it.
The tall, smooth stone walls of the camp stood proudly and protectively. She saw a ledge peeking out from the cliff and instantly recognized the Highledge. She squinted her eyes and saw a cave near the top. The leader's den. Bramblestar is surely there.
Bristlefrost took a deep breath, happy to be back in ThunderClan's camp, but she knew that she could only temporarily be here until she had to return to her permanent home. She looked around and headed towards the nursery, curiosity picking at her fur. She entered the bramble thicket reinforced with thick roots woven together, and she blinked quickly to get used to the darkness.
She saw Daisy sleeping in her nest, her cream flank raising and falling slowly as she breathed. But next to her lay Spotfur, sleeping peacefully in her nest.
Bristlefrost looked at her, regret nagging at her fur. I was supposed to be here, helping her raise her kits.. I'm so sorry, Spotfur..
Bristlefrost approached her, and looked at her belly. Three kits lay there. A white tom with gray spots, who she assumed was Graykit; an orange tabby tom, who she thought was Stemkit, and..
Bristlekit. The orange-and-white tabby she-kit.
She broke into a purr as she saw the kit who was named after her. She felt honored. But then she noticed how all three of Spotfur's kits cuddled close together, warm and safe from all the dangers. She purred. One day, they'll be brilliant ThunderClan warriors.
She looked at Spotfur and, although the queen was sleeping, she could see the tiredness in her face. She purred. It must be tiring to raise kits. I think it's best if I let her sleep.
Bristlefrost left the nursery and looked around for the warriors' den. She then saw the big thornbush, remembering that the warriors' den is under it.
