Our foot steps tapped hard on the wet concrete as we ran down the side walk. We don't exactly need to run anymore, but Connor was dragging me with him like a rag doll, so I couldn't stop. We had got into a little argument with some "important" people that led to us being chased down.. with WEAPONS. Connor dropped his knife while dodging jabs from a guy with one bigger than his. I, for some fucking reason, didn't think to bring anything when he told me we'd be going down an alleyway in this shadey ass town.
We ran as fast as we could and lost them after swerving through traffic. They stopped chasing us cause' they weren't stupid enough to do the same thing, especially when it's raining as hard as it is right now. After forever, Connor finally stops running. I put my hands on my knees to catching catch my breath and when I lifted back up, I saw where he had brought us.
A night club."As a reward for doing such a good job of not dying, we're gonna party!"
". .What? You know I don't-"
"Mason, don't you think it's time to live a little? I mean we DID just almost die."
He's trying to make me laugh. Even when just about 5 minutes ago we were getting ready to be diced up. . .It's not working, but I guess I can't say no. We're already here.
I roll my eyes and move my way past him and into the club. What I saw when I got in there was nothing like what I imagined it'd be. It looked less like a club and more like a giant hotel with two spiral stair cases on each side of the room and a lot of flashing lights. It was very pretty, but blinding.
Connor made his way in after me, walking up and resting his chin on my shoulder."I know what you're saying. . 'Wooow! This is nothing like the trashy places I thought he would go to!' " Connor spoke with a little chuckle at the end.
"I was not thinking that."
"Yeah, right. I'll be at the bar, okay? Don't go upstairs. That's where everybody fucks at."
"What?"
"Byyye! Love you!"
Aaand he's gone. Presumably to get drunk and forget everything that's happened tonight for a little while. And he's left me to figure this place out. . .Alone.
So I start the night off with sitting at the bottom of one of the stairs and scrolling through my phone. Connor wasn't kidding about what happens up there. I saw atleast ten different couples go by and six going up the other set of stairs. Not my business though.
After a good 30 minues I moved to the bar to find connor, but he wasn't there anymore. I turned back to the stairs to see him leaned against one of the rails. A couple ladies surrounded him. I didn't care to know what was going on and I didn't look long enough to see what they'd do next. Especially since Connor was most definitely drunk and ready to do anything without a single thought of consequence whatsoever. The rooms upstairs must always be full, because he brings home a woman every night that he comes here. It's not like I hear anything, but it still annoys me.I sat at the bar for a long while, thinking of ways that I can convince Connor to let me go home. That's when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned my head to see a tired looking black haired man staring at me with bright green eyes. He had a name tag that said "Lukas" on it.
"Sorry I'm late. Did you want to get anything?"
"I uh-?" I looked around to see that the seats around me had their own assigned bartenders. The bar was square shapes with different stations based on the color of the seats. There wasn't anyone else sitting at the line of purple seats but me.
