I'm Just Crushing on You

Chapter 1 

Escaping

Tessie grabbed a hold of Cayton's shirt and pulled him toward her. His chest went slamming against the bars. He looked at his shirt then at her, grimacing. Tessie gritted her teeth. "You can't leave me here," she whispered. "I have too. And besides, you just grabbed my shirt so I would reconsider," said Cayton. He released himself from Tessie's grip and walked towards the iron door at the end of the room. He took one last look at Tessie before he exited. Tessie sat on the cold floor, weeping and murmuring revengeful plans she had. She couldn't believe that her mother and father put her in a cell to teach her a lesson. She had tried helping a Stormbreaker escape. A Stormbreaker is a secret agent sent to protect others from danger and go on private missions. This Stormbreaker, Marc Elson, was trapped by her parents cause they thought that he betrayed them when Tessie knew otherwise. Marc was kidnapped by a enemy of her father, Vinson, and tricked them. Tessie saw what happened but her parents wouldn't listen. They imprisoned him in the cell she is in now after she helped Marc escape. Her brother, Cayton, couldn't careless if she was choking on a piece of food or about to jump off a cliff. Tessie pulled at the manacle that was wound around her wrist that her father put on her so that she wouldn't try to escape. She jumped up and pulled out her Regenator. It was a device created by Spyland Corps. It is a heat ray device that can break through any metal object. She aimed it at the metal around her arm and pressed the button. In less than one minute her hand was free. The manacle dropped to the floor while she got up and brushed off her pants. She aimed the Regenator at the bars and they fell noisily to the floor. She jumped out of the cell and to her surprise saw Marc in a corner of the room. "When did you-...?" she asked pointing at the door. "Don't worry about that. I came back to free you but I realised," he pointed to the bars on the floor, "You already got that covered." Tessie blushed. No one had ever complimented her for doing something before. Her father had always resented anything she did like when she went on a Scientific Expedition to Iceland. Tessie jumped at the noise she heard coming down the outside hallway. Marc noticed the change in her expression as if he was reading her thoughts. He caught her arm and aimed for the window. He wrapped his arm around her waist and then he jumped over the windowsill. The door swung open, hitting the wall behind. It was Leo, her father. He saw the bars on the floor and the open window. He rushed toward it and peered through it. He saw no one. He went back through the door, slamming it behind him. Marc and Tessie breathed a sigh of relief has her father left. They heard the door slam and the pounding of his feet has he ran down the steps to sound the alarm. While Tessie was staring in awe, Marc pulled her hand and drew her toward the boat. Marc wasn't one for sea adventures but he couldn't blame his boss for living close to sea. Tessie hopped in and he started the engine. He took off rapidly. Only a few meters away, Marc looked behind him to see his boss on a jet ski with a revolver in hand. He fired a shot at Marc. Marc ducked. "TESSIE, GET DOWN!" he ordered. Tessie fell to the floor of the boat and placed her hands on her head. Two more shots were fired at Marc but he skilfully out manoeuvred them. He looked behind him again to realise that Leo was heading back to his house. He sighed loudly and looked down at Tessie to see if she was ok. "Tessie!" exclaimed Marc. A bullet had caught Tessie in the arm. She was loosing blood by the minute. Marc left the wheel and lay by her side. "Tessie, Tessie! Can you hear me?" Marc asked. No reply. "Tessie, don't worry. I'll make sure that you're safe." He pulled out his phone to call headquarters. "Hello? Marc here...Yeah I got her but she got hit. Her father was shooting at us but we escaped. She's loosing blood fast so make sure there are paramedics at the dock when I get there...ok...bye." Marc ripped a piece of cloth off his shirt and wrapped it around her arm and turned her over. He then went back around the steering wheel. He looked at the wide expanse of water and tried to calm himself. Ok, he thought, I've got Tessie away from that villain and I'm gonna protect her and then, maybe, I'll confess my love for her. Then he thought better. Oh who am I kidding. As if Tessie would fall for me.
