“I was wrong when I gave you the necklace, you’re never been my Sun".
Kale paused and Kyra tilted her head, showing full attention to his words.
"The Sun love to have easy life, he shines naturally when the light is already here, clouds are the only obstacles he might face and, for a matter of fact, we know no matter how thick they are, the light will always overcome them. But the moon..."
He chuckled
"Oh my"
Making a lovesick smile and locking her gaze with his tender green eyes, the boy went on with an excited rush gesturing in the air…
"The Moon is so stubborn! She doesn’t care if she can’t shine, if she’s opposite to the sun, if she’s in her decrescent phase…"
He slowed down and sighed, smiling fondly at her, cupping and brushing her cheek
"No matter what, she’ll find the light and sent it down here, caressing the lonely souls, illuminating their darkest nights, helping those people find their ways home, giving them hope ".
Kale took a step back, loosing the sweet contact and, staring to the ground, continued with a sad voice.
"You were my hope Little Fried, you were my Moon, Kyra”.
She stood there watching him with pain and delusion in her heart, eyes watering
“I-I… was I?”
During his speech her heartbeat was frantic, she was so happy ‘Maybe he wants to be with me again?’ and when he cupped her cheek she’d aspected a kiss but then… he spoke at the past tense and now… he stood silent, her question unanswered while he fought with his doubts and guilts.
“Kale?”, Kyra recalled with pleading tone.
He reclutantly rised his head and and, in a low murmur “yes, you… you were”. She could feel her heart crushing into pieces, frozed in the spot, unable to say or doing anything, eyes wide open on his figure without really seeing him, not a tear dropped. Then she heard a choke and refocused on Kale, who was shaking
“A-and… s-sorry Kyra if I-I… aarg!"
With tears down his eyes, the blonde took a deep breathe.
"I don’t have the r-right t-to say some-something like this b-but… yes, y-you were and…"‘There’s an “and”’ Kyra helds her breath, still hoping.
"A-and you a-are, a-and you…" Another deep breathe, then with firm but sad voice "You’ll always be my Moon, my hope…" Started sobbing again "M-my l-lo-love”.
Her face was blank, but Kyra internally was screaming in happiness!
‘I can’t believe this is appening! He still loves me! But hold on… to spill it out he had to almost gave me an heart-attack, didn’t he?! Aahhh this is my idiot!’.Unfortunately Kale couldn’t read Kyra emotions, so he said hopeless:
“Sorry, I was selfish, I don’t wanna you to be upset. Please forget what I said. I hope one day you will be my friend again… at least. Goodbye Kyra” and without wait for an answer he started to run away, deaf of Kyra’s desperate calls. The girl chased after him and, luckily, grabbed him from his hoodie, causing him to stop and turn back in shock when he faced a panting Kyra who managed to yell:
“WAIT!!! YOU IDIOT!!! ARE YOU DEAF OR SOMETHING?!?!?!?!” Kale stared at her with confusion in his eyes and a puzzled expression
“W-what?!”
He shuttered.
She didn’t listen at all “You idiot… huff…don’t you know that… huff… you’re too fast…huff… that the Moon reflect sunlight? Huff… That a Moon without a sun is only a useless cold piece of stone lost in the endless darkness?”. She finished with an encouraging smile.
