"Y-You're from Ragaurd!" The naked man underneath me actually stuttered. The fear in his eyes meant almost nothing to me. This wasn't my first job. "I thought..."

"Thought what?" I tilted my head. "That this was real? I have feelings for nobody. Especially scum like you."

I didn't give him a chance to speak again before my dagger met his heart. That was easy work, some men will believe anything you say. I wiped my dagger off and put it away before getting out of the bed to throw my clothes on. It wasn't long before I was out the window and on my way. My communicator dinged, indicating I had gotten paid. That's the only notification I have one, I get too many job offers to not have the feature silenced. Everyone wants Strange, but did I want myself? I couldn't tell if I loved or hated myself. Maybe both.

I pulled my hood over my head and made my way to the nearest place with food and beer. I could use both. The looks I got when I entered the bar were the usual, some of them knew what I was, some of them wanted what they saw and some of them were scared. I made my order and kicked my feet up on the table.

After the food and drink arrived, I pulled out my communications device and scrolled through the jobs as I ate. A sigh escaped me as I looked though, these are all boring. I decided to switch to the red flag jobs, these were more my style. The first one caught my attention, these people really wanted my help. There was little information, just a physical description, a price, and name. Justin Kane.

Why does that sound familiar?

I shrugged it off and accepted the job. After finishing my food, I paid and left the building before adjusting the settings on my teleportation device, which came in the form of a smart watch. Teleportation was easy for me now. Before I had practice, it would make me nauseous and knock me on my ass.

Once I pressed the button to teleport, I landed on my feet with ease where I needed to be. My surroundings looked pretty normal, nothing crazy. There was a lot of land and forest, along with a town and houses. This seemed like a busy planet, so I'm sure there's more to it. I made my way to the nearest inn and got a room. I need to get all my weapons in check first and time to make a game plan, this wasn't a red flag job for no reason.

After studying the job more, I laid back in my bed. I needed sleep, sleep was rare those days. The job had to be done in a week, that was plenty of time. I could take a quick nap. Nothing could have prepared me for what was to come though. Justin Kane was about to turn my world upside down.
